"Ξύπνα λαέ" - Greek-Armenian Patriotic Song

No politics just good music.
This song is an adaptation in Greek of the Armenian song Zartir Lao/Զարթիր լաօ. The Armenian song was originally composed in the 1890s, it pays tribute to the famous fedayi Arakel Mkhitarian/Առաքել Մխիթարյան better known as Arabo/Արաբօ. Due to the very strong ties between the Greek and Armenian people many songs were adapted in both languages.

Historically Byzantines were enemies of Armenian and Georgian kingdoms in middle ages, Byzantines destroyed and annexed Bagratid Armenia which was protecting them from Turks and after that Anatolia fell to the Turks aswel, and from Georgia they took Tao Klarjeti

@@alal7194 yeah politicaly we were enemies in 10-12th century but we had the same relligion so our priests had very good relationship. Even build of our seccond biggest church was financed by byzantine emperor. Georgians and greeks were friends in antique age. Greeks thought kolchis(georgia) was the edge of the world. They did not have much gold so they loved traveling to georgia 🙃. +there are proofs on island crete georgian lived in around 4th millenium BC and they spread their culture to greeks: vine(in general vine was spread from georgia, even name Vine is georgian Ghvino(ღვინო)), bread (in ancient greek language bread means Pouri and in georgian Puri, pronaunciations are the same). So friendship of greeks and georgians started even before antique age. After 1453 georgia has been united only 4 years. Our historican wrote "after constantinople fell, the sun never rose again."
