Xavier's personality is narcissistic and whenever he helps anyone, he always screws it up because he doesnt understand the people hes helping and the ideologies they have. He deludes himself into thinking that he truly helped the people that he interacted with even tho he just left them with an even worse life than before. You can use that quote from OP's comment and that character trait of Xavier as a metaphor for virtue signallers. (anything in this show can be used as metaphors really, this quote just seemed more fitting for virtue signallers). That quote sounds like something a sjw would say but simplified. And i have experienced this for myself. Im asian and theres tons of times that sjw people assumed im chinese by my appearance and treat me as if im a beginner at english (theres a guy that kowtowd on me and i really dont know if he was being racist or just genuinely didnt know).
