Yeah, this is actually quite rare with rappers. I've seen it so many times in interviews -- most can't remember even the sequence of key events, let alone the actual dates. Nope not at that time. Deftones came out mid to late 90's. He's probably talking about the group Tesla. Grammy nominated, Cake is another. But for that time period I'm almost sure it's Tesla. Also interesting fact, Why you treat me so bad by Club Nouveau was recorded in a miniature studio that's now a barbershop right alongside San Miguel Market right off Broadway & Stockton Blvd.
