I am a brand new radiography program director and instructor at a small community college. I've taught CT courses for the last 3 years but never radiography until now. Been a tech for 30 years, but as you said, we take for granted how all this works. Thank you for this. I'm trying my best to figure out how to teach to where they can grasp it. I'm not at a point to where I could draw it all on the board and just talk about it. Maybe one day. Right now, I'm just working on making sure I cover all the content and put it in a manner they hopefully can understand. Unfortunately, I wasn't left with any lesson plans or anything so I'm trying to build as I go. I have enjoyed all the content I've seen of yours so far. Hopefully one day it will come 2nd nature to me and I can just talk about it without referring to notes or a textbook. LOL

Hello, Thank you for your message. We all have to start somewhere and we do it anyway even if we are afraid and don't have all the needed resources. I have been in education for sometime now and have dedicated many hours towards our craft. I am confident you will do well. Please let me know if I can help you with anything. It's all about our Rad students and future generation of Rad Techs. Robert J. Medellin III

Hello, Do you use the ARRT Outline (Content Specifications) ? That is my foundation for curriculum & lesson planning.

@@RadiographywithMrM thank you. Yes, I do use it. I try to make sure I cover all the content it has specified.

@@nikkic1998 I have the students look up the terms as well and they can make their own study guides with it. I did separate Radiation Protection from the outline and created my own. I would like to do it for Image Production too.

@@RadiographywithMrM I have access to the former director’s syllabus for our seminar class. I believe she did something similar. I’m getting ready to work on everything for that course so I’ll make sure I include that in my course this spring. I know I can’t make them study, but I want to at least give them all the resources they need to be able to pass their exam. I appreciate your help.

Question: The transformers are labeled ‘primary’ and ‘secondary’ transformers solely based on the number of coils?
@RadiographywithMrM8 ай бұрын
Hello, the number of windings are a factor but they are not the only item. The thickness of the wire, the insulation of the wire, the voltage changes and the electromagnetic field that is created from one end to the other are also factors. But the easiest way to identify them as being a step or step down is the number of windings compared to the primary and secondary side. I keep it simple, the more windings on the right side, then it is a step up, more windings on the left, then it is a step down. I hope it makes sense. Mr. M

@@RadiographywithMrM Cool way to look at it. I did not correlate that, thank you for explaining more simply!

Wow, that was super simplified. Now to the textbook for more in-depth analysis of my diagram. Question: As a first semester Rad student, what order of your videos for Radiologic Science do you recommend watching 1st, 2nd etc? There are many and sometimes I am not sure exactly where to start other than to try and follow my Bushong book. It would simplify well. Thank you!

What classes are you taking now?
@barbmorgan29893 ай бұрын
@@RadiographywithMrM I am taking Radiologic Science (101), -3 hours per week instruction, Radiation Protection and Safety - 3 hours per week instruction because the instructor records PPT lectures, and Orientation to Rad Technology - 1 hour per week instruction. Rad Science instruction began at week 6 due to a new Program Manager start date. In addition, this is a community college, so there are limitations to the instruction time provided/credits per course. I am using Mosby's Comprehensive Review of Radiography as a guide and I see when you cover a topic, it appears to follow this outline very closely. You make it make sense.

@@barbmorgan2989 What book are you using for Rad Pro, what weekly topics are laid out for you in your syllabus?
@barbmorgan29893 ай бұрын
@@RadiographywithMrM Started with Bushong's Radiologic Science for Technologists. The new Program Manager wants us to use Cengage, Principles of Radiographic Imaging. - I see what you are meaning I will look at her topics. I am using Mosby's Comprehensive Review of Radiography for a guide for the ARRT. - Have you heard of this book? If so, what are your thoughts?

Hello, Yes. I am familiar with all of those text books. I would suggest using the ARRT outline as a guide along with the topic you are covering each week. Mosby's follows the outline pretty well. It is a good book but is more helpful for review. We use Principles & Mosby's here at my campus.
