Have you thought of using front forks of any of the x Rider motorcycles on this vehicle I own one also I'm just wondering if the forks from a motorcycle would make it more beefier in the front end I also ordered the Dumbo wheel one and three quarter like you said the wheel is so cool looking can't wait to install it it looks like you shaved yours down a little though unless it's just smaller on the screen because my wheel looks huge anyway music is life!
@tunesandatalk1513 жыл бұрын
Greetings Early Culyer and i never thought of that as those forks might be a bit too huge. I'm still using the stock forks and they're still holding up and i do run this Flamingo ruthlessly but carefully as i'm a pretty good driver. The wheel might seem smaller due to on screen but it's the same size. This wheel is still holding up as it's also full folded rubber. The best to be honest. Be prepared to drill a 6mm hole through the aluminium hub section for the axle. It's easy to do. Just hold one side of the hub with a pliers and then drill. Simply add a little diff or ceramic grease to the axle/inside the hub after drilling and it runs as if it's on bearings. You can't tell the difference when the Flamingo is running. Hope this helps and i need to do something RC soon as i've been busy focusing on the music side of things and on my channel. Irie.

Thank you for your video. I never would have considered a trike in my collection but you make it sound so fun

Thanks for the comment Chris and it's definitely a bag of fun and fast stable unit with really long run times. If i had to choose one RC from my builds/collection, the Flamingo would be it without a doubt. It ticks all the boxes :-).

Hey Dude, thanks for sharing all your info on your flamingo. Still waiting for mine that's got lost in the post. First thing i will do is use your skid plate design to protect the wire bumper, chassis and fixings .I have also seen people running nitro fuel tube around the bumper bar and small diameter rubber tubing to the inlet and outlet ports on the rads for scale effect. Just incase you don't know asiatees.com have quite a lot of hop ups for the flamingo as well as on Aliexpress. Also the tamiya m chassis wheels fit this unit perfectly. Would be interested in track footage if possible. Keep the uploads coming. Peace!

Solid man! 🤙 I’m just waiting on mine in the mail. I got the green one, hope I have the updated v2 with the metal diff already in it. I have a little different plan that I hope works and if it does. I think its going to be the easiest way to make it brushless an keep it light with a 2s lipo.

Loving your modifications.... Great video.. Do you know what pitch the pinion gear is? As I've fitted a different brushless motor but the shaft is 3mm the stock pinion is 2mm... So I'm looking to buy the same pitch but with 3mm hole... Tia
@tunesandatalk1513 жыл бұрын
Greetings Simon and thanks for the comment. The pitch is 48DP so pending on your motor KV, you van run between 17 to 20T 48DP pinions. Have you installed the motor already. I take it that you have a 380/370 size motor and not a 550.

@@tunesandatalk151 thanks for getting back to me 😀. Yeah I've bought a 4800 kv motor.... It said it was 2mm shaft in the description but when it came it was wrong it was 3mm shaft... So I need to get a pinion for the 3mm shaft.. Just wasn't sure on the pitch.... You've helped there appreciate it.... Detailing my engine while I've got it apart... There pretty well made for such a small rc..

It's an Arrowmax 3200mah and it also works with the Tamiya Dancing Rider. Super long run times.

Hi can u link the motor the wheel and the gears where I can get it thx nice videos
@tunesandatalk1514 жыл бұрын
The wheels and tyres are the original wheels that came with it originally. The moto is the Losi XCelerin (www.losi.com/Products/Features.aspx?ProdID=LOSB9563) and I run it at half of the kv, meaning after set up I half the throttle. You can punch it and give it a little bit more if needed. Regarding the gears, if you mean the differential gears and out drives, mine came with a metal set so if your came with plastic all you need to do is purchase the metal set (www.cmldistribution.co.uk/product/XR-FG8057/x-rider-flamingo-gear-diff-set-metal).

Just to mention for the front tyres I use a DUbro 1.75 inch (45mm) rc tail plain wheel. I then drill the 3-4mm hole and just install it with the needed spacers for the front, they last far longer than the original.

what type of rear wheels and tyre you use?
@tunesandatalk1514 жыл бұрын
Greetings Marco, I have tried other Tamiya and other mini size wheels - the ones I run currently are the original stock tyres. What I do is make sure they are glued and I run the X Rider until the tyres go bald and you'll find they grip a lot better on dry asphalt when they are bald. Bald tyres mean they operate like slick racing tyres because they make more contact on the road. I painted the rims in a mat silver colour.
