About Billy: whenever I describe Billy to people who are not familiar with X, I always tell them, "*Any* guitarist can make a guitar cry or scream; but only Billy Zoom can make a guitar ~complain~"

These two are a gift to music and we are so lucky to have them … I got to meet John and Exene very briefly before a gig once one of the best bands ever …I’m 60 the late 70s early 80s LA punk scene to me was the best and my favorite bands / musicians came out of that scene and period . I’m looking forward to seeing X again the end of this week in Denver on the end of the road tour VIVA X !!!!!t

I'm about a third of the way through the audiobook. Having grown up in a SF suburb, I didn't get into X until the early 80s when they'd play the Kabuki ever year. So it's great to hear about the earlier days. Now that I'm in my 60s, I completely get why they want to slow down. Hopefully they find a way to channel their creative bonds. Whatever that looks like. Thanks

WOW!! I didn't know before watching this that Exene threw the first pitch at Dodger Stadium!!! I found footage of it here on KZbin, too!! How friggin' cool is that?!? And Billy and DJ wearing ZOOM and BONEBRAKE Dodgers jerseys, too! So nice that Angelinos are finally giving X its due for, in their own way, putting LA on the map!!! And this is coming from a SF Giants fan!

The new album, the last album if you will, is such a great album. Alphabetland was excellent and this is even better. If it's the last one, you did it right.

Always a joy to see Lyndsey doing these amazing interviews still. Her music knowledge and awareness is unmatched.

Been distracted this summer by some family health drama and other things, have barely picked up my guitars for a few weeks at least. This was the shot in the ass that I needed to hear today! Thanks Lyndsey for doing this interview. Also loved the recent one with Al Jourgensen, which either could make you cry or roll on the floor laughing! One thing I don't like about these times is, I can't even rely on the few indie record stores here on LI NY to even stock something like the new X album on vinyl or CD. Years ago I could go over to Tower Records and be assured of them having it. I find it distressing and disturbing. Yeah I can buy it online but....not the same thing. An entire culture has been destroyed. I effin hate it, I'll be honest.

Very true about vinyl I’ve got well over a thousand singles and LPs mostly punk stuff. It was a real culture thing for me to visit record stores and markets to pick up different vinyl much of which I can actually remember the day I bought it. Downloading and streaming is certainly very good but it pales in significance to actually having a piece of vinyl or even a cd in your hand

Lyndsey, I was unaware that it was YOU , who had a major hand in the Mercy, {Permanent Damage} book I just listened to on Audible, literally, finishing it up mere days ago, ... I suppose, had I held the physical copy of the thing in my hands, I would have recognized that fact in some way before this very moment, ... but, what a serendipitous surprise I had just now coming to this realization!! I thought it was a terrific account of her life's story, indeed, I felt your telling of her narrative transported me inside the each account of the experience as if I were there living and feeling it myself!!?! . .. also, weren't you involved, at one point, with Chad Smith on some type of radio show/podcast thing-a-ma-jig , .. ?? (forgive me if I'm getting you confused with another gorgeous red-head [..or pink] haired radio rebel 💗) . .. love ``X`` with all of my heart, btw ❤️🔥
