I agree there is a big difference. Chinese cuisine is made with respect for the craft and held in high regard. Nothing is without meaning and their cooking is held at a very different standard then american food. I am american myself but had the great pleasure of visiting the country.

They literally said there are over 20 courses so while the portions are small you’ll for sure be full at the end. As for the price you’re paying for an incredible gastronomic experience you’ll remember for the rest of your life. Gourmet food is when you pay more not to fill your stomach full, but you pay more for the taste, deep taste in little bite of extremely high quality food, the apperance of food, the luxury and the environment behind you (atmosphere of restaurant). It makes people feel happy If you are looking for fast, help you feel full quicky and cheap price.. Better go to Burger shop or another fastfood restaurants.

All you peasants complaining about small portions and high prices. Haiyaa.. Eating in a 2 or 3 Michelin starred restaurant is a sensorical experience where you are seated for 4-5 hours with sometimes even 20 courses of the finest food made with the very best ingredients by the best chefs in the world. Combined with the very best wines, paired by wine experts to forge the ultimate partnership with the dish you are being served. You will be completely satisfied, drunk, stuffed and in ecstacy at the same time when leaving the restaurant, mesmerizing over that food experience with all the flavours, scents, service and atmosphere for years to come. Total sensorical overload. Yes, it has a price. But done right, you will have an experience you will never forget and might change your perception of food and taste for the rest of your life.

I think a lot of westerners watch this and think "what the fuck is he talking about?" or "is this shit really necessary" etc. etc. But you have to remember, chinese people are *VERY* symbolic. At times, too much really. I mean, chinese people are the kind of people who will eat noodles because it symbolizes long life. Marinade an egg in a virgin boy's pee because it preserves youth or something. But yeah, you get what I mean when they are symbolic. And to westerners, they just think it's garnish or something, but for chinese, everything MEANS something, so authentic chinese cuisine *IS THIS THING REALLY*
