I have to keep reminding myself that I don’t want to fly formations. But argh!!!! They are making it so hard by giving the Seppies all these hilarious tricks. The big concern is these ships will pop like crazy. 2 agi and 3 Hull means that you will lose one a turn, minimum, if your opponent is smart. You have to disrupt them hard before you lose too many droids

I suspect the reason they listed the discord missile as a missile instead of a device (thematic reason and name not withstanding) is to keep the vulture droid from needing a device slot, rather than limiting it from ships with device and not missile. That way the vulture isn't usable as a cheap device swarm, since it wouldn't have access to the other devices, and they can only field 3 of these.

With DFS 311 you can transfer a calculate token to Dooku at range 3, then another vulture droid at range 1 of Dooku can use the ship ability to use that calc token, in essence boosting DFS’ ability to range 4-5.

The buzz droids are gonna cost a hefty amount of points, as they are VERY powerful. the ability to auto damage is powerful, and the fact that the ship they are attached to cannot shoot them seems very powerful.

Alexander Forrest you can barrel roll out of them though - you won’t overlap the template again when you barrel roll so it won’t follow you. I don’t think these are all that powerful if you’re trying to use them to force crits. It’s more about cutting off optimal routes for your enemy so they make suboptimal choices. It’s a mind game - which is worse? A dedicated crit or going somewhere you didn’t want to go.

So if you are the last ship left and hit buzz droids, you just die over time. There is no way to get rid of them. Obi wan and Other jedi were able to get them off by flipping back and forth. Not sure I like something that autokills. Even if they made it a die roll or something.

I think as cool as the mechanic is it'll be hard to pull off. I get what you are saying but you could potentially kill the remaining ships prior to yours dying since vultures aren't strong. I just don't see this auto kill scenario popping up all that often. Plus maybe there are yet unseen stipulations?

Of course but what I think David is saying is that if you have one ship left and it hits buzz droids it will eventually die because the enemy can keep placing them in front which makes them range 0. Not all ships can shoot something at range 0. Although the buzz droids can in theory get knocked off since they can't overlap debris or asteroids.

So, if you put it in front, it can damage over and over again. Gross. It's a cool idea though. I wish it behaved more like a missle. I.e. something along the lines of. Launch with a 3-template, and place the droid, OR if your launching template overlapped an enemy ship, you may place the droid to the front or back of that ship. Maybe it would be overpowered though. Eh, just thoughts.
