I used to say that as well but now I get it. It’s like a car you enjoy driving, you wanna go places more just because you like it

I just purchased a X100VI. I went to NYC for a week of street photography. I intended to bring this camera with me. Instead I brought the LUMIX GX9 with the kit 12-60 lens. All due to weight and size. Highly recommend a L bracket and thumb rest. These items make the X100VI so comfortable to hold. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

Ill acrually be in NYC next week and doing some street photography there. I've hear some good things about the Lumix GX9, I might have to try it out. I feel like the X100VI is pretty comfortable to hold but may go for a thumb rest.
@martingreenberg8704 ай бұрын
I know the thumb rest, for me, makes holding the X100VI more comfortable. My favorite places to work are Union Square and the High Line. US has a subway station you can look down on the platform. Took some nice pictures there. The park has the elephant stairs on the south east corner. The southwest corner has the chess hustlers and the subway entrance. Walk the east side of the park and there are park benches to take portraits. The north end of the park has a children’s playground. The northwest corner has a farmer’s market once a week. As you walk south there are people selling paintings and photographs. A great spot. Take the 14th street crosstown bus to the High Line. There are tourists and locals walking both downtown and uptown. There are nice reflections from the buildings windows. Be careful if you walk north. I went into B&H on 34th street. I didn’t leave empty handed. It’s the largest adult toy store I know. Have a great time in NYC. How can you not? Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

@@martingreenberg870what does “mask on” mean? Is that a camera feature?
@martingreenberg8703 ай бұрын
Mask as in the thing I put over my nose and mouth to prevent inhalation of airborne bacteria and viruses. I’m 72. I can’t afford to get sick. People sneeze and cough all the time without covering up their mouths and nasal passages. I’m not paranoid. Some people are out to get me with their germs. Covid is constantly mutating. Great video. I've watched a lot of videos on this camera (as have a lot of others...), and I feel like you had some unique insight on it. I'll let you know my opinion in 100 years once I get one.

Thank you so much! I didn’t wanna dive too much into technical bits and wanted to focus on my actual experience. I think the supply issues are the biggest negative with the camera. Thanks for tuning in!

Fellow Colorado X100VI shooter here! Great review. That said, I think you might have an issue with your specific camera or with the SD card you’re using. I do not have to wait 11 seconds to switch into movie mode. Not only can I press drive mode and instantly switch to movie mode, but I also have my ael button programmed to instantly start recording by video with no issues. The only thing I don’t like about the drive mode button is it seems you HAVE to use the joystick to switch options which I find a bit annoying and wish you could just use a scroll wheel. For even more film like experience, I love using the OVF, screen completely off, and manual focus (zone) only.
@kristopherfadeleyamoia4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! I actually know a few other people who have the issue as well. It only is after shooting a burst or something like that. The joystick being the only way to switch drive modes is definitely frustrating as well. Hope you're enjoying the camera though!
@ramblingcameraman9904 ай бұрын
@@kristopherfadeleyamoia Ahh yeah, if you're finishing a burst and waiting for the cache to clear then obviously that changes things. I LOVE this camera... for me I shoot 95% in full manual mode with screen off, OVF, manual zone focus, but I love that I can switch to EVF and autofocus if necessary, unlike a Leica... which is probably the only camera I'd get to replace it, or maybe the Xpro4 when it gets released.

Im in the same boat I think those are the only cameras I would upgrade to at this point. I also have an X-T30 so Im pretty set right now

To shoot video, you can assign it to Fn button (e.g: in the front of camera) so you can just click and the camera will record the video. It will save you 11s. :p Nice chat, anyway.

What film sim are you using in the "video" segment of this video? I like the colours on the skin and the pink tones on the table.

Here’s my recipe that I’ve made over the last two years! ASTIA Grain: Strong Small Color Chrome: Strong FX Blue: Weak White Balance: 5400-6600 (depending on how warm I want the shots) with r 2 b 1 Highlights -2 Shadows +1 Color +1 Sharpness -2 High ISO NR -3

I just got mine and it is my first Fujifilm camera. The autofocus is definitely a huge step backward from my Nikon Zf. I have yet to figure out how to reliably get a sharp image with it. The viewfinder is nowhere near good enough to manually focus, though hitting the rear command dial to enlarge the image might be an option there. The split prism and focus peaking are not really good enough. On the positive side, I do want to take it out and shoot it every day. The flippy screen on my Nikon Zf is such a downer I don't relaly like using it. I started using RAW + JPEG, but adding clarity to jpeg's slows it way down and not adding clarity makes the jpegs unusable SOOC so I just shoot RAW since I have to process the images anyway.
@kristopherfadeleyamoia4 ай бұрын
I’ve heard a lot of great things about the Zf. I’d love to try it out at some point I don’t really do anything with clarity for jpegs and shoot in JPEG+RAW that way I have the ability to post process as I need to. Thanks for watching the video!

I know how you feel. The Fuji isn’t nearly as good as my Sony A1, but I just love my cute X100VI.

Autofocus is not perfect, but it works really well if you know how to use it. Put it in AFC, tracking, disable subject detection, and leave eye detection on. For me, it has been working perfectly. I love that the eye detection prioritizes the face in the square; therefore, I put the square on the face I want the eye detection to engage, focus, and recompose with focus on.

All of these photos could be taken with those versions in the series. I actually talk about that a bit in the end of the video. You definitely dont need the newest version of the X100 series if you have a previous one!
