The control in this game is so counterintuitive. Every other game out there use shift for sprint/boost. In X4 they use shift for everything else. No left click to fire, use space bar instead. I guess it’s possible to change some, but since you can’t remap some function it’s almost best to bite the bullet, leave it as is and get used to it…

What I will say is using space to fire makes sense as you can navigate your heads up with mouse clicks for things like comms, targetting, etc It feels weird but overall actually makes sense

Shift teleports you to your ship? What's with that? But thanks! It was doing my head in when I played last.

Shift D is the shortcut to teleport to docked ships yeah, never quite understood it myself lol

Control in this game is so bad i just couldn't go past the tutorial to steer the ship, i tried both controler and mouse, multiple time. WTF are those controls, can't they use the normal controls every god damn game is using instead of reinventing a wheel but making it square... Not to mention that they use different presets depending on what you are doing like you play a toon and walk with w, but then you don't accelerate with w in your ship... Same with the supposedly steer assist on and off. If it's off you glide, but your turning are still assisted and don't glide... *face palm* This is a cluster fuck of developers not knowing what they do, and just randomly applying settings depending on how this woke up that morning? Game looked good tough. Is there a secret steering somewhere that is actually consistent?

My shift + n or space for steering with my mouse is bugged, every time I enter the menu the command is deactivated and I have to re-enter it each time. Pls help me, thx.

Is it resetting everytime you leave the menu or the game?

@@TheRuggedGamer I hadn't played it for almost a year, before it would reset when I started the game but it wasn't a problem but now it resets every time I consult the menu.

Why doesn't the game allow you to remake the actions. I am unable to remake Travel Mode to anything without ctrl.

Some keys are mappable, but some are set, generally ones that are listed on keys in menus
