A couple of things: - The most imported flight control of them all is Full stop (Backspace) - Throttle control is also bound to the mouse wheel - Aim assist lets your guns behave like the gumball weapons in Elite, allowing you to use the full range of movement of your mouse for maneuvering - deployables and ammo can be bought and sold in the ship outfitter. Save your load out template for easy restocking - Hire-ring crew by talking to them on stations is cheaper then hire-ring trough the ship outfitter - get a captain for your starter ship asap. Then you can stand behind him in the cockpit and let him drive - You cant collide with asteroids right now. AI controlled ships also don`t get collision damage from stations. Its been disabled because of the AI - shift-A is the auto pilot. But it cant dock, fight or use cruise mode on its own. Using an AI pilot is a much better option - from i have found so far Telladi have the best shields, Paranids the best engines, I haven`t really looked at weapons to closely yet

For people having problems claiming abandoned ships larger than a fighter: 1. Have a crew member on your ship set to marine. 2. Get as close to the ship you want to claim as possible, usually nudge the ships broadside. 3. Target ship and open the context menu for it and select Claim. 4. ?????????? 5. Profit! You should now have a new ship. Note when claiming a ship this way the shield and weapon modules get destroyed, so you must refit it.

I was watching captain shack's stream on this and the biggest issue I have right now is that the ships seem samey. I realize this is just a cosmetic thing, but I think the older games had better ship design. These are all very cubic (not hard lines but they are designed to fit in a cube) I know the freighters are longer, but the capital ships just feel like bigger fighters.

Get yourself on the highway near Argon Prime and stay on it - it's a huge ring. Whilst on it, open your mission tabs, and the highway passes near enough stations you can see missions as you go past. I'd recommend the repair or scan missions to start - 130k each, covered in the next episode!

One of the best aspects of the X series is the high barrier to entry. Have the exact same thing happen when taking off. I don't know if there's some wonkiness in how the game reads my joystick or what. But it's very annoying. Wouldn't mind if I was obviously doing something wrong. Then I could correct my mistakes and move on. No way to correct random game behavior. Also, it isn't very easy to set up the controls. It doesn't do a good job of reading the different buttons on my VKB Gladiator NXT.

I guess you already found out that you must check around your ship for the purple circles with there own high pitch sound. They are only visible inside your ship and not appearing on your map. And they will be only visible a little while. Just keep on pinging with your long range scanner. When im following those circles and they seem far away, i just ping them and change to superdrive with shift-1 and when the circles dissapear i change back to the long range scanner (shift-2) and ping again and turn back to superdrive till i reach the destination. Just a tip for you or the ones reading all the comments like i do. There is so much usefull stuff in all the comments!!!

I did enjoy these videos, but I wasnt a fan of the inaccurate info given out about X Rebirth. I understand why you might not have enjoyed Rebirth at release, but contrary to your claims there were gates ( 20:21 ) and there was more than 1 sector in Rebirth ( 23:05 ). There were the equivalent of about 108 X3 size sectors in the base Rebirth game. With all expansions applied the size of the game is comparable
@hpoonis20103 жыл бұрын
The low point of both X:Rebirth and this is the loading time (saving also). Loading/saving is extremely drawn out and takes forever. More mods, more in-game items (ships, wares, encounters, etc) means longer and longer load times. In fact, game start/load/save times are increased compared to Rebirth. Save games at start are only about 200-300m but the game takes a long time to load a save. By comparison, Cities:Skylines saves load 18Gb of mods and assets in less time. Personally, I don't consider xml to be speed/space efficient. 60-66% of the saved game is just xml tags, with 30-33% being the actual save data. NVME SSD with 32Gb of RAM jelly makes no difference...snail-y slowness to start/continue. It is fantastic that there are a few mods which add new areas/sectors but to add them brings the aforementioned start/save delay.

The trading computer extension keeps the buy/sell information live for a while after passing by, to see prices. There was about 15 Jump gates in Rebirth if you had all the expansions.
@ADMNtek6 жыл бұрын
you are aware the jump gates in this are just re skinned superhighways. as far as the engine is concerned super highways and gates do the same thing. only that the highway has a travel sequence.
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but the jump gates... are cool. :)
@kirillaravanis4936 жыл бұрын
One correction : jump gates were a thing in X Rebirth too
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
They were in the expansions - were they in the original game? (With the gate shutdown, etc)

I would like to see the capital ships! Specially its behavior in a fleet! I hope Egosoft didnt place shit like pathing and limited angle for capital ships.

You can select one of 4 ship skins in the player menu.
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
I didn't see much difference when I tried that, so I thought it was bugged. Nope, it works as you say, it's just the colours are a little muted! :)

ive noticed when capturing ships who tried to pirate me they have some specific skin on their ship probably depending on the faction but it disappears when you go into the 4 basic skin menu makes me wonder if you can make skins similarly to logos or buy them from somewhere because as of now the basic 4 ones are severly lacking and just change minor elements.

I did find a damaged singularity engine (for people who want the SETA) i destroyed a pesky xenon M class ship and there it was ready to be tracted in to my ship, I am pleased so far with the game and i have just reached the milestone of having 100 million in the bank, No Seta, No cheating of any kind, I have 2 main Trading Bases, base 1 is situated at the PHQ and that is a food based, offering all the wears needed for manufacturing food, My second base is in Trinity Sanctum (3) and that is based on raw material like Gas, Ore, Silicon needed to make Microchips, Hull Parts etc and that base had sales of 23 Million in about 20 hours of trading, I know compared to some people that is not a lot but i am getting there. I know in the other X games selling Spaceweed, Spacefuel, etc was a good seller so far i have not gone down that path but am looking into the possibilities, Has anyone else here gone into the illegal wears business of selling Spacefuel etc, and if so how profitable have you been.

Thanks for effort. Great video.

optimization seems weird in this game can only play 1 hour or so on lowest settings because performance just tanks over time, game probably has problems with caching and seems to be the fault of stations since flying everywhere else with max settings is just fine.

It's been severely pissing me off. I've had around 12 crashes in 4 hours of play. I've experienced the whole gambit. Autosaves crashes, adjusting graphics prefs causes crashes about half the time, clipping bug getting me trapped inside a station making me reload, crashes while just trying to load from steam x4 times. this thing has been a nitemare in that sense, but it's been nice (while working). The lil discoverer has been my friend. :D [edit] finding an equipment dock in the explorer is a ballache of supreme magnitude it seems.
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
Head for the ring highway - there's an equipment dock in Black Hole certainly, (off the right side of second contact). I've had a couple of crashes, but borderless window helped with a crash on saving whilst alt-tabbing. Haven't had too many others so far!

Thanks. Played x2 years ago. This is NOT like riding a bike lol
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
You mean your bike doesn't have lateral thrusters, 4 different modes, roll control and direction independent turning to sideslip? You need a new bike! :)

I also have a 1080, are you finding in some stations the FPS is dropping as low as 30-40? I think it’s the AI scripts when there’s a lot of landing going on etc
@PaulPofandt6 жыл бұрын
I read in another post that shadows cause a major performance hit. Esp around stations. You can disable them if you need to.

I reallllllly wish they would put a plethora of starter missions right on the first station you start on. Im new to this series and are getting burnt out flying from station to station looking for jobs I can handle.
@grayduster5 жыл бұрын
You don't need to fly from station to station - just put yourself on the ring highway, and watch for missions on the mission screen as you go around. You can ask people on stations, but they'll just point you to those existing missions.
@kirkyoung41475 жыл бұрын
@@grayduster thank you for the reply! learning that I could ask people has helped. I was just having a difficult time finding missions/doable missions in general, I learned to use the highway from this comment section already haha

I do have a quick little question. Is there a way to view what class a ship is? I used to be able to view a ship's info and see, ah, this is an m3, or m5, and know whether I could take it or not. If I can't remember the difference between a Xenon N and an M, is there any way to see that on ships flying around, or do I just need to go by visual/memory?
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
The ships are now split into S, M, L, XL (similar to rebirth). Miners, Frigates, Transports are typically medium, starter ships are small - the construction ships are all XL. (Wharfs have the S and M classes, Shipyards have the L, XL classes). I think the symbols on the map will indicate their class, but I could be wrong, I'll do a little research
@nomad25c6 жыл бұрын
Open the map legend top right corner. See the ship icons. Or, click on a ship and then push i or schift i, I belive. Check settings controls general

Please do you have on any of your video's, info about hiring a manager?
@grayduster6 жыл бұрын
communicate with a crew member of your ship when it's on the station you want a manager for, tell them to work somewhere else, and choose the station with a role of Manager
