I want to check if this is still true in 5.0 but I think you can trick the station by planting the EMP, entering your ship again and then blowing the bombs up. I think that is because technically the unit that planted the bomb (your space suit) has temporarily stopped existing thus the game cannot assign any blame to any faction for the explosion.

Thank you, buddy! I always avoided this ASSUMING I that I would take a rep hit and suddenly cause the station to turn aggressive towards me. Firing up X4 now and ditching my pirate playthrough. For context I started fresh for the new DLC, and wanted to do some light role play as a pirate-to- scrapping enthusiast moving towards a mostly-hostile faction with a few friends for end game.

Hacking the security office and then the weapon turrets is easier for stations you are not enemies with

@@JKNinja I would say it's more like the station doesn't know what happened or who did it vs a ship with identifying insignia's. At least that how I roleplay it.

I might have to start doing this. XL and L ship construction modules cost of 200million! Like what the hell? I want to start building capital ships but not with those prices!

There is a nice mod simply called Spacesuit Bluetooth in the STEAM Workshop, it increases the range for scanning those data leaks from 2 to about 10 meters. With it you don´t have to glue yourself to the station just to get close enough anymore, a real life improvement, and reasonable considering we´re talking about a high tech society. However that brings me to another topic: Ninja, do you ever intend to speak about mods in general? Because i have noticed that there are VERY little videos about anything else but large scale Star Wars mods around despite the X games being really supportive of mods in general. Heck, the second and third X3 games were basically at least one third mods from the previous game!

I dont use mods, except for graphical. Be going vanilla everyone is starting at the same baseline. Even with my personal playthroughs I dont mod my games as much. I'm white bread when it comes to my games 🤣

@@JKNinja Understandable, i´m very hesitant to use mods since i modded my Fallout New Vegas into unplayability... But ever since i tried it, i found that SOME mods can really enhance the experience. Game studios are more worried about getting out the finished product, they often have to sacrifice some details for that. Cyberpunk 2077 was a good example of this as well, though i have not yet modded mine.

Great video, never used EMP before, wasn't really sure what they were for. For the blueprint does it matter which module on the station you EMP? or just anywhere will do? Also do you get a hit to your reputation for it?

anywhere on the structure will be fine, and you won't get a reputation hit from using EMPs

Does station attack you if you use it? Or do you get a reputation hit for using it?

Using EMPs on a station does nothing UNLESS a civilian ship is caught in the blast. Even then this will only bring the police to scan you for illegal wares. As long as you don't shoot anything your reputation will be fine

EMPs do not, but they do have a blast radius so don't use them near civilian ships

repair lasers wont give you any building unlocks, using the repair laser is really for completing missions.

The ship trader at the end look very, very uneasy as she came face to face with someone all decked out in a spacesuit. She thinks to herself. _"I'm not positive, but I'm sure it's Michael Jackson in this spacesuit. Though, I can't see through that mirrored visor to be sure! I know... I'll do one of his dance steps... And shout out "OW!". He won't be able to resit that..."_
