Love this intro...the sword of the ancient wars is new again, meaning we've travelled back in time to witness the battles unfold...very clever.

Truly magnificent . Even if the warlords were totally NOT this cool , and were assholes , and would have gone back to fighting each other at the end of the war , this movie is AWESOME.

This movie is the best. It's based on true history and it's entertaining. This intro though, it just sucks you in and you want to watch the rest of the movie to see if it deserves such an awesome soundtrack.

I love this movie...the version I watched had rather fast subtitles but but I was able to keep up. The story is great. It also kinda reminds me of Dynasty Warriors lol... I recommend it to everyone. 5/5 ^_~" Btw, there are 2 red cliff movies (part one and part two). Both are epic and a GREAT watch.

Im 10 years late, but.. Such a naive boi.. Imagine. Back then, humankind were stupid-er than the newer generations. If Zhuge Liang or Kongming is like that, then great people after him obviously much better than him. Muhammad, Khalid ibn Walid, Genghis Khan, Erwin Rommel, etc.

After the unification of China and after the reign of terror by the first emperor, came the Han dynasty. Near the end of the period a decisive battle was fought prior to the period of the Three Kingdoms in Chinese history.

John Woo's movie usually contains that type of over-the-top action... Although that type of action is less ridiculous when the people are using guns (ie hardboiled)... But then again, this movie isn't very historically accurate so I guess we can just consider this a quasi-fantasy movie like Hero or Crouching Tiger...

@Intranetusa15 жыл бұрын
well, it would've been interesting if john woo decided to make this movie off of Dynasty Warriors/RomanceThreeKingdoms, instead of half heatedly trying to do both fictional and somewhat semiaccurate. It would've been interesting to see the characters atop shinny golden armor killing thousands, or female warriors doing battle in flowing silk dresses...

actually in the real stories, characters in real life are more treacherous and complicated to the extent that if this show were to portray, it would disgust you. This theme song will even lose its glorious' feeling'. This movie divides the good and bad so idealistically. i would encourage you to read the 'sanguozhi' to get a better understanding. anyway, this is jus a movie..NICE movie

@Seele2015au4 жыл бұрын
Wisnu Saputra Most definitely not: Goujian was in the "Spring Autumn" period, i.e. first half of the Eastern Zhou confederacy, followed by the second half "Warring States", then First Empire: this story happened at the final years of the Second Empire, where iron became common. It is believed that iron weapons first appeared some time during the late Warring States though, prior to that all weapons were bronze.

@67brovo agreed n ditto; the characters are even worse in the romance of the three kingdoms lol; and of course much more exaggerated and biased because it was written in a time when the sentiments and opinions were that the Shu-Han belligerents were the righteous and honourable heroes (who deserved to succeed Han dynasty, partly because of Liu Bei's royal blood ties); & Wei + Wu were downright eveil :P, i.e. the shu-han generals were glorified, dignified n portrayed as more cunning than others.
