Totally agree. I see they are trying but they just needed to listen and the find a way to curb the heat effectively and then increase the speed of the CPU. Oh and of course implement a root switch.

There is supposed to be an app to utilize the HDMI input to record from devices such as camcorders, other TV Box is, anything with an HDMI output. However it cannot record from official devices that has HDCP protection. They didn't even include the app.

Sounds like the Allwinner chipset crapped out again. There is no fix for that, as that could be a hardware failure.

Try keeping it cool. remove it from heating surface. Turn box on it's back upside down. Use a cooling fan. Overheating causes restarts.

I played those videos from a flash drive. However I wouldn't recommend this box for connecting to your NAS server. Take a look at the TOX3 kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJrTontnqsmJbpY it has built-in client and Samba server settings for your NAS server. Ugoos models also has this feature I have one coming up soon which is the latest model. For processing 4K videos effectively over a server I would recommend a model but good processing power. I have another potential high-end model up soon from Beelink. So you should be looking along those lines. But the TOX3 would be the best mid-range option in relation to price.

What about the HDMI in port? you didn't talk about it. This box has this port but it seems like its just a waste of space as this can't do anything unlike other boxes that enable recording with this and a major selling point.

It's a good box, but not happy with the launcher that on it. I tried to change to another launcher, and it wouldn't work! Tried to flash it, wouldn't work either.

You seem to be doing something wrong because in the video I use the ADW launcher 2 alternative launcher and it worked without issues. I also installed the menu button navigation bar, however the recent apps feature will not work because the box is not rooted. Install ADW launcher 2 and start the app and see if it works.

Mine keeps rebooting itself after a few seconds, there's no chance of even going to settings it'll just restart, there's no info about this anywhere and my dad had took it to get fixed just for it to be exactly the same

To be quite honest I never thought about getting one of these boxes fixed. When these go bad unless it's a really expensive box, if it still in warranty you can claim a refund or a replacement. The Allwinner chipset in my opinion is always prone to overheating as I stated in my video and this can result in hardware failure. That's why sometimes I recommend a cooling fan.

What you are attempting to do is called a local updates that sometimes fail. You need to do a USB update using a PC Allwinner software tools and a downloaded firmware. androidpctv.com/firmware-box-x98h-pro/

@@tvboxstop I bought a box the other month it was only capable of 100mbps you need a box that says 10/100/1000m if the description just says 100 it's literally 100mbps. I have found 2 box's today capable of great internet speeds. My HK1 rbox is starting to get out dated and that capable of 500+ Mbps need similar.

All in one root is an app for rooting boxes, but it does not come on any boxes. What you have a boxes that are rooted, not rooted, and boxes that have a root switch. My X98HPRO looks the same, but it may be a different X98HPRO. I consulted with the dealer, but they did not provide me with the firmware file. There was a picture of the board on the net, so I compared it. Different memory is used. The picture shows DDR3-1866, but my board is DDR3-1600. A slow chip is used. Thank you for your wonderful review. It was helpful. I also got the X98HPRO. I have two questions. 1. I logged in with my Google ID. I received a report from Google that there was a login from Pixel3. At first, I thought my Google ID had been hacked, so I changed my password. My X98HPRO is recognized by Google as Pixel3. I would like to know if there is an error in my operation. I don't think I'm wrong because it says Pixel3 when DRM Info is executed for video. Please let us know how your X98HPRO is perceived by Google. 2. My firmware is X98HPRO_20221020-1059. X98HPRO has OTA upgrade support. Has the firmware been upgraded since the video was shot? thank you

I know exactly what you are referring to. In the settings area someone probably selected Pixel3 as the name of the box. That can be changed in the settings area. It's nothing to be worried about but yes it can get you spooked.
