G'day mate, very satisfying watching the hammer and dolly work, 👌 only those who have done it can appreciate the results. I am still learning but am seeing some results. Cheers mate.

Unreal job man, I had to do that with my bonnet from a stock GL bonnet to a Ghia XE bonnet. The Ghia front was great but the rest of the bonnet wasn't, so it got grafted into my GL bonnet. Drago at Sefton Smash did that for me.

G'day from West Australia😉 Bonnet repairs are always a fun exercise. Just a small suggesting for you Tom. If you add a extra stip of steel that spans either side of your initial splicing. From each end back towards the middle lock plate are, it helps to stop the corners of the frame trying to crack on the welds. Which has happened to me over my 43yrs. You only need to spot weld the strip either side of the weld line you created between donour nose section and parent metal section being repaired. Saves a whole lot of heart ache after first spirited drive with fresh painted top coat.😉🙂👍👍

Every time I visit rare spares I ask when they're doing XA bonnets. It worked for fuel tanks, not for bonnets so far ;-)

Tom, would a dimpling tool provide enough depth for you to start attaching the product that you have purchased? The other is the scoops are for a ram air system, are you going to connect all of that up or just have the scoops?
@phatridesgarage3760 Жыл бұрын
I am going to look at my dimpling tool today and see of it can be used, no im leaving it stock looking as far as the vents go . Just want to get this car built, no real customising on this one , cheers thanks for watching

POR 15 is overrated, in my opinion. i used it when i fettled some front wings on a Mercedes. 3 months later and the rust was still bubbling back through, depsite being treated with POR 15.

I cant believe Ford never splashed a coat of primer on the under sides of the panels. I supposed it was cost efficient and out of mind out of sight!
