Ok, i may be reading too far into the lyrics and tone but i noticed some things. The singer styles herself as a master temptress, emotionally detached and playing with her food. But starting from verse 2 onwards she seems a bit warmer, more invested. Shes able to confidently assume that her "angel" wants to be with her forever, and doesnt seem opposed to the idea. And then, at the start of the last chorus, theres a few lines where she totally switches tone, sounding almost sad, before putting more power into the next few lines of the chorus than anything before. This leads me to 2 conclusions which arent necessarily mutually exclusive: 1. Shes fallen for her angel as hard as her angel fell from grace for her, but isnt honest with herself about it. she wants to hold hands in the park, rough fuk in the dark forever, but projects those feelings and interprets her own as just a complex. In the end, she feels lonely, and decides to fully commit to the bit. Fairly straightforward. 2. The angel is the one who seduced the singer, without her even realizing. Its a saying that one of the best ways to get someone to do something you want is to make them think its their idea, and she was so perfectly their type. For all the singer's confidence, shes right where her angel wants her. She realizes this by the last chorus, but it isnt enough to make her wanna stop. Shes smitten, perhaps more so, after that. A woman after her own heart. Anyway yeah i listen to complex for the *plot*
