How do we get that left hip/thigh open and out of the way like at 0:32 in the video? Love your videos, it's really helpful just to watch them and absorb some moves.

Try keeping your weight onto your left side throughout the backswing and the downswing. Focus on the hands (especially the right shoulder) to bring the club down unto the ball and not with your hips.
