It is very complicated not to compare them with Nightwish when they are really VERY similar, simply their style was deformed a lot from Neverworlds End, although apparently in Theater Of Dimensions they do something that should have done before: to find a style more own, something that They abandoned for some time. I really like Salome seventh veil and Kill the sun when they were Xandria for real, but the Neverworlds end and the Sacrificium make me real jewels, this little test of the new album inspires me and tells me that xandria finally looks for a new sound (But ironically) miss the sound influence they had of Nightwish (although many do not like it, it is OBVIOUS the influence of the Finns on the Germans).

Agree. I've read the comments here and for Call of Destiny. Seems like a lot of stupid people like to spout off their nonsense. Arcanua's comment, comparing to Epica and other bands, even commenting on their font being the same as Evanescence. Like wtf? This is why metal can't rise again. Because the fans are against each other. I mean if you have any sort of musical ear, you can tell the difference between just about all symphonic metal bands. Especially between Epica and Xandria.

Symphonic metal was started by the TRUTH MOVEMENTof the 1990s and embellished by the REALITY MOVEMENT of circa 2004. EPICA was always ground zero for those themes and have become a very hip and cool band. Xandria is not ignorant of this and they too have begun to migrate in those directions and its partly due to my counseling them too. Good news is IT IS WORKING. This song and video are very similar in style and production to EPICA- Essence of Silence. Being influenced by other bands is not a bad thing. Being similar to other GOOD bands is not a bad thing either. Dianne has certain spectacular qualities that I think they should simply run with and all of us should be happy with that. By the way, I lived in a time before any form of symphonic metal or fem metal. That perspective makes me always TRULLY APPRECIATIVE of all this glorious music and is why my TOTALLY FEM METAL CHANNEL is the single largest fem metal source on earth and contains OVER 300 fem metal bands so far.

I really liked the song, I've been listening to it the whole day. It has that catchy chorus that you will love form the first listening. This will be surely on the setlist for their next tour and everybody will sing along with it. I like how the choir has a more important roll in the song and sounds stronger than ever. The growls were a pleasant surprise and Dianne's voice is beautiful as always, definitely a great collaboration. I like this xandria and I can't wait to listen to the whole album. Great job guys! About the Epica comparisons: Dianne sounds nothing like Simone here, especially in the pre chorus verses. In fact, I think her vocals could be a lot better there. The choir and male vocals sound reminiscent of Epica; Bjorn kind of does sound like Mark here. But I still think Epica are waayyy heavier AND more symphonic than these guys. They sound good, but Epica is on a different level altogether. It's a good effort, it's just that Epica have a very unique and layered sound only a few bands can resemble let alone replicate/match or supercede. ps: this is my personal opinion. Don't sweat over it if yours differs.

I completely agree. The intro chorus seemed very reminiscent of Epica, although the later drum solo already drifts away from Epica style since Epica does not use drum heavyness to heavy up the song. Ofcourse the vocal capabilities between Epica singer and Xandria singer is very visible since first part. and Bjorn did indeed sound suprisingly similar to Mark ^^. Also the main part of song was lacking the technical difficulty in it. (Although The Holographic Principle of Epica had it lacking in some songs as well)

The vocal level of Dianne is the same as Elina from Leaves Eyes and Emmanuelle from Sirenia. But Emmanuelle is more experienced. Their level is clearly real super singer. Based on this song seen that Marco cancelled his requirement for total usage of belcanto what here is called as "angelic voice". That "angelic voice" is only part of possibilities of Dianne. Clean voice has always more possibilities for expression. Earlier true vocal level of Dianne was not seen in Xandria because of that restriction from Marco. Dianne is much better than her fans think. She is simply underrated. She is real super singer but Simone is level lower. But sadly that based on this song Marco drives Xandria to POP style like as here mentioned Epica. Possibilities of Dianne allow Xandria to be soft doom gothic as and was in Lisa times. But now this is simply POP.

+rmcoooo TQE was heavied up pretty much due solely to drums - the drums were very prominent in the mix. +Alex Aga I think Xandria's last EP (Fire and Ashes, i think is what it's called) did a really great job showcasing how versatile Dianne's voice is.

EPICAN, Absolutely agree with you. It is only my opinion. I am not musician I understand in music at least no more than you. IMHO Simone now is worse than was. Because female voice has mutation in around 25 years age. It must be taken in account. Her voice became higher than was. But she or/and band ignore it. Of course all it is only my IMHO.

But despite it and based on only song if even other songs are also uptempo POP this album is great because Marco allowed Dianne to use clean voice. Now we can see true Dianne but not restricted down to angelic voice as here mentioned belcanto.

Alex Aga There are four snippets released. One of it is featured shortly at the end of this song and it is called "Where The Heart Is Home" and "When The Walls Came Down" shares similar style from Sacrificium (classical style singing) and there is a track called Ceili (Epic-folk metal ish), Song of Sorrow and Woe (sounds a bit like Little Red Relish but with heavier parts). You can search for Xandria in their instagram page. Its there. And I dont have problems with rock voice or classical singing. I think this is just like THP's "Edge of the Blade" the weaker songs in the album but I still find it good. While We are Murderers sounds really heavy and less symphonic and straight forward I like it so much although I think this might be the weaker track of the album.

Now very uptempo like Epica (as constantly mentioned here) or like kinda Slayer with female voice. I would be preferred moving to slow doom side. But eventually Marco cancelled his requirement for total usage of belcanto. Dianne as real super singer can use and clean voice. Clean voice always has more possibilities for expression. Belcanto can be used as elements for decoration. Growling is normally, Lisa had also used growl. But also only as elements. In all, based on only this song Xandria2 has become simple POP.

I never would have guessed that this song is about how mankind is destroying its world if the chorus wasn't just "We are murderers" & repeating "we are" 100000 times before it's lodged in your brain. Sonata Arctica has a song off their new album called "We Are What We Are" which is veeery similar to this new single. "We Are What We Are" straight up says that humans can save the Earth, but chooses not too because it's in our nature, has the phrase "But we are what we are" repeated endlessly until you want to rip your ears off, and even THAT song is less subtle & less stupid than "We Are Murderers." Seriously? Singing WE ARE MURDERERS WE ARE WE ARE WE ARE WE ALL is the best you can come up with for a chorus? I would have expected that from a soulless pop star, but Xandria? A symphonic metal band that I always thought didn't get enough credit for how good it was? As for the Epica comparisons I see in the comments section... well, yeah, I can understand it. The chorus is sung by a choir, the growling sounds kind of like Mark Jansen I guess, and the song is about humans being awful (The real icing on the cake would have been if this song was about the terribleness of organized religion). But the main difference between this song and any Epica song is that the lyrics are TERRIBLE and absolutely RUIN the music. I'm not one to complain about lyrics at all, but good God that terrible chorus just ruins it for me.

Criatividade, falou muito bem... as guitarras muito marteladas pegando linhagens de bandas de death metal, e pouco fundo harmonioso... essa música particularmente eu achei fraca, espero que o Marco tenha feito as outras músicas do album melhores que essa.

'Sacrificium' was the reason why I started listening to this band. The singing and the music was different from the other bands out there. But this is really disappointing. I don't like comparing but this is really like listening to Epica (which is my favorite band). The choir and her singing is really similar to Simone's. I am just going to have to wait for another song and the album. I like this band mainly for Dianne singing and it would be really a shame if the rest of the songs are like this one.

It seems that every artist just have to sing a song to the urgent social issues. You have it in the contract with the label written? It is sad that instead of what would have to do in their songs other worlds and give their fans, you push us into that surrounds us every day! P.S. But Diana is beautiful as always!

está bueno el tema pero siento que deberían haber lanzado una bomba como lo es ''Where the heart is home'' que ya con 30 seg del tema se nota que es de lo mejor que se ha escuchado de esta GRAN banda que no tiene nada que envidiarle a sus pares del mismo género.Ansiando el 27 para escuchar este discazo
