Rule number one in Eurorack: If you ever get the itch to sell a module, go watch a DivKid Demo of that very module you own before making a decision of letting it go... Works very time! Thank you Ben!

Lol yeah. I wonder if he charges for those slots on the side. I have no idea if this is a thing or how he sets up compensation for products that companies give him to review... Just if I had all eyes on me for demonstrating synths I would offer that lol. Like x amount of videos your stuff is next to the module I’m reviewing.

So glad I found this. So many phasors always have to have lfo modulation but they’re so useful for like heavy bass design when operated manually or with an envelope. Or when you can just find a spot and hold it.

GODDAMNIT BEN MAKING ME WANT AND FEEL THINGS THAT I SHOULDN'T! great module though. seems okay for the size as well. just a question though. what do you suggest for doing stereo. do you think just mult to duplicate final stage of signal chain to your out? or do you know of any good pseudo stereo module effects?
@DivKid8 жыл бұрын
Stereo FX on the output maybe? Or actually make stereo chains which is the same as doing polyphonic stuff essentially. Two VCOs, two Filters and two VCAs then take each VCA as left and right. That's just a basic idea. For big wavetable drones something like an E350 taking the XY to one side and Z to the other is nice.
@echopraxia15547 жыл бұрын
so if you just run both outs into the mixer panned Left/right will you achieve a wide stereo field effect?
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
Hey, I do this on with the guitar later in the video. Skip into 11:09 at this link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIPWn5SQbppsbKsm9s - and I recorded both outputs in stereo. There is an image but it's not super wide.

Killer! I love that you experiment with the 'not so pretty' bits of the module. Just curious have you had experience with the Deflector Shield and if so how do you think they compare? I've loved my e560 but this guy is much smaller and a bit easier on my power consumption. Plus the feedback on this is really nice.
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
Hey Zachary, thanks for the comment. I haven't tried the deflector shield so can't comment on that one. This is fantastic though! It gets a lot of use from me.

hi mate, I'm trying to start modular, could you make a video explaining what modules are good to start with ?
@DivKid8 жыл бұрын
Hey Lucas, I'd say join Muff Wiggler and Facebook groups and start reading and researching loads before buying anything. I'll have some things in the future that will be useful. For now I strongly suggest Tuesday Night Machines channel and his modular basics series. Also Chris Meyer and Learning Modular is fantastic too.

What is the oscillator going into it? Sounds very roland-ish, or is that the effect of the phaser?
@DivKid7 жыл бұрын
More the effect of the phaser than the oscillators I imagine. I can't remember what the oscillator was going into it to be honest. Could have been an AFG, PDO or Dixie thinking about what was around the set up at that time.

@T8ped4 жыл бұрын
can it reasonably track 1v/oct?
@mynameismynameis6662 жыл бұрын
it is pronounced CHAOS devices. why? because the "X" is the kyrillic letter for the sound that "CH" represents and the "C" in kyrillic is the "S" in roman letters. so "Chaos" is literally what you get if you transscript the letters from kyrillic to roman

Coldest phaser I ever heard. :/ How many stages is it?
@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
"coldest' really? Compared to what? The stages are on the panel on two different outputs which I go through in the video at multiple points. But, there's a 4 stage and a 6 stage output.
@kierenmoore32366 жыл бұрын
I'm used to vintage analog guitar pedals: eg (re phasers) Mutron, MXR, even early Roland/Boss. Which is why pretty much all eurorack FX modules (even effects most synth players I know are familiar with) sound pretty cold/sterile to me. Same with eurorack delays, and most reverbs.
@kierenmoore32366 жыл бұрын
I tend to prefer fewer stages (typically 4), but analog.
@DivKid6 жыл бұрын
This is an analogue phaser, but totally fair enough if you're not into the sound of it. Some pedals sound great, others not so much. There's also a range of great and more basic or lacking FX in euro too that are just simple re-hashes of a specific chip or well known circuit.
@kierenmoore32366 жыл бұрын
A lot of it is to do with the chips they use these days. They just don't manufacture those old delay chips anymore. It's nothing to do with the eurorack format, per se.
