That's a new feature of the hardcore addon. ULTIMATE Hardcore. If your character dies so does your hard drive.

You can ask an IT expert to save your data from that hard drive. Most of the time they can get recovered. Also you are a huge streamer and you don't use an UPS yet. You should not only use an UPS but also a NAS with raid 5/6 where you save your data on. It costs like 1k but you earn thousands of euro every month and you're a full time streamer. Would make your work-live much easier and saver.

A UPS battery unit is cheap, I have a few of them myself. But why would he invest a grand in data recovery when these guys will be playing on official servers soon with no addon or appeal? If your hard drive crashes on official, you’re done either way.

Bro setting up RAID is cheap. A UPS can be a little expensive, but very forgiving on your expensive components. If you're a streamer, you should have one. No excuses that you can't afford it, but you can afford to order doordash 3-5 times a day

Truth, raid array is a no brainier. Just the convenience when stuff goes wrong to just fix it fast and get you business streaming back online fairly quick instead of having to reinstall and get everything in order again. Should be very compelling when you are a streamer.

KZbinr/streamer usually have a lot of videos they want to use in later videos and it's worth beeing sure that no data get lost. Also you can have the games saved there aswell so no download/setting it up again is required.

I know I know. I was gonna bring up a raid drive for backup. At least he can just grab a drive, like 2-4TB and do a schedule backup every night. and replace everything after a failure from second drive for convinience. Or you could just do a *-*edit*-* Automated- DROPBOX or a ONE Drive backup online for important stuff :p Not everything costs over a grand yall.

When you disconnect on official hardcore PTR your character log out after 15s (instead of 60s+) you can still die in 15s but there will be way less deaths due to disconnects on official hardcore.

Everyone playing Hardcore that cares should have a battery UPS that has their Modem, Router, Computer, and one Monitor plugged into it. So if there is a power outage, those will flip over to battery power and you'll have 15-60 minutes before you completely lose battery power.

Windows could always decide to say screw you and bug out causing you the only choice of reinstalling the OS lol. There also could be un/correctable PCIe errors. There could also be memory mismatch errors from a failing DIMM. There could be a blown capacitor on the motherboard. There could be a blown capacitor on the daughterboard. There could be a short in the PSU. There could be a AC to DC blowout in his house. The possibilities are endless.
