Welcome. This is black metal. It started with some young Norwegian bands (from 1988-1995) really obsessing over albums like "Black Metal" by Venom; the first three albums by Bathory; In the Sign of Evil by Sodom; and Satanic Rites by Hellhammer. They liked the grim vocals, the references to Satan and darkness; the less polished production; the bands they idolized always had an image as well So the young Norwegians did what they called "Black Metal" which was dark tremolo picked riffs and blast beats; slow doomy beats with arpeggios in the riffs; evoking atmosphere. Darkthrone, Burzum, Mayhem and Emperor I'd say are the big four. There's a lot of history you'll instantly find on all that. Shocking stuff. Kinda cool stuff in an edgy way as well The sound of Burzum, and also a French Black Metal band Mutiilation have the most influence on Scott in terms of black metal
