Seems like a great deck, i dont think you should be running psychic energy though. Do anything besides fire or psychic so Mew wont have to discard if it copies Mewtwo or Zard.

​It doesn't. He attacks for one psychic energy. Also, I really don't understand why people get so fixated on that third energy type. In most cases your Druddigon won't attack, all your main attackers use mostly neutral energy, and on top of that even if Mew copies a psydrive, and you discard 2 psychic energy, if you knock out their opposing Mewtwo, they just lost: what are they going to use to oneshot your Mew on the crackback? Energy bricking isn't a thing with this deck: I've been playing with a similar list from day one with a pretty positive winrate and can't recall a single game in which energy type was a problem for me​, or made my plays awkward @@jaxrocks991

I've never pulled either, but I got a mew from the wonder pick once. I've been making do with a deck using 1 mew and 1 pidgeot basic. It's this deck at home.

Look at Poke Flute text as... "Pidgeot EX does 20+ more dmg." And is almost permanent since the bench pokemon will stay there. Other crazy techs are: if you have a Sabrina and ur opponent is sitting only on a Golem (for example) and ur one point away from winning, then take the pokemon u can one shot from the discard pile, switch it with Sab and steal the game. P.F is a very tricky card but most of the time is just a 20+ dmg sudo Blane for ur Pidgeot Ex, and that's super good.

I was thinking about Mew and Pidgeot too because it's colorless and feel like it's the easiest Mew deck outside of gardevoir/mewtwo/mew. This deck can surely be improved over time and adapt to the meta as well, I could see a variant with another base Pokémon than Mew but still 1 Mew as a finisher in the deck, or maybe add a non-ew Pidgeot and remove Sabrina ? There are so many possibilities since Pidgeot is neutral energy

Since you said the Onix/Marshadow deck makes no sense to you, I am contractually obligated to talk about how Onix is the most underrated card in this game. Onix is effectively a Sandshrew/Sandslash that needs EITHER a Brock (substituted for the evolution) or a 3rd energy and has more HP than Sandslash.

The problem with Pidgeot EX decks is that if people just stopped playing like bots (like playing any Basic pokemon they have to the bench doing nothing), Pidgeot would be far less reliable. That is to say, 3 energy for an average of 100-120 damage (on most decks) is still very good. At this point, I would like to remind everyone to stop auto playing their basic pokemon in the starting hand. Check their starting basics first and if they have a Pidgey, focus on being taller than Pidgeot by reducing its damage and removing Poke Flute targets. Placing basic pokemon from the starting hand to the bench only ever matters if you're turn 2 player and your opponent's energy is water (essentially playing around a turn 1 Misty from player 1, but at that point if they pull it off you've already lost). I feel like once people understand how this archtype works, they would definitely play around it more focus on going Tall. It is definitely a fun option to play around with.

New Tauros* - shares a niche with/ and is worse than Druddigon as a wall - better energy requirement than Druddigon - still hard to get online as an attacker - has a niche in decks that get a lot of excessive energy (e.g. u play a lot of 1Energy mons) - gets better the longer the game goes (EX revenge-killer) - doesnt take any extra cards in your deck to work - opportunity cost high for decks that dont fullfill all those criteria - leaf can serve as a 1-card retreat if she fits in the deck anyway conclusion: looking at the tournament results, i noticed that the more successfull decks that want some kind of stall engine rather play mew/koga bounce or druddigon. the difference is mostly in details and how many slots you want to use. New Tauros has a niche (completely generic/anti-EX/1-Card) that it can fulfill better then any other card, so it will see some play. The anti-EX part might become more desireable in the future. Celebi shreds this deck for me, they never have a big enough bench for pidgeot to kill anything and i never pull gio to get 130, always 120 and heals, swaps on me, feels bad lol

Way too glass cannoney in my experience. You're good into Celebi and decks with lower total hp pools, but in my experience they kinda fold against a decent hand from this deck, and any other Ex centric deck that they can't oneshot with Blaine + Ninetales/new Rapidash

If you have just one, I would suggest to cut the expeditioners, add leaf and 2 copies of druddigon. Druddigon deals chip damage that helps Pidgeot hit over some important thresholds and Mew is just good.

I think he's saying Pidgeot ex is better than Celebi ex in a vacuum. There is no doubt in my mind that the Serperior/Celebi decks are the best deck in the game, but I could see the argument that Pidgeot ex is better than Celebi ex on its own.

Highly recommend making space for a single original Pidgeot. It's not a highly damaging ex pokemon, but it's still very good and reduces the risk of getting stuck sitting on a Pidgeotto. It also combos well with Poke Flute in certain scenarios since you can then switch in the weakling to ohko.

More damage. Realistically, there isn't much difference between 50hp and 60hp, but a 10 damage attack and a 20 damage attack for the same energy is a huge difference.
