People are misunderstanding how gyarados discards energy, he selects a random energy not a random pokemon, so basically if you have 4 and they have 2-3 for example, you have the higher chance of losing energy because you have the higher amount of energy

I was thinking it was it discards 1 energy from ALL pokemon and it was fucking busted, as in each go down by 1

And since you're more than likely knocking out a poke with his attack, you remove the the energy attached to it from the equation, so it will almost always be higher on Gyarados XD

Gyarados' ability actually can work on the fainted active pokemon. itll discard the energy first before removing the active pokemon from the spot

This has been great to play. Had some very interesting and close games. Dual Greninja's doing 80 damage over 2 turns as well. MvP is the new Magikarp, keeping that energy and swapping to Drudgigon is so nice, that you don't even care that the deck runs two Misty Supporter cards that read: "This card does nothing"

Can confirm it isn’t just Gyarados that it takes energy from. I went up against a gyarados and it kept discarding energy from my dragonite. Very frustrating for me.

Yes. You need all the energy for Garydos. So Drudgigon can apply passive pressure until you've gotten Gary ready.

sometimes when Gyarados discard it's own energy could be blessinh my Alakazam almost nuke it with 4 energy (180) due to energy discarded, it's only 3 (150)

Pokémon ability activates first before the Pokémon is fainted. I run 1 leaf and 1 Giovanni. Giovanni lets you one shot Mewtwo.

Gyarados is a Top 3 deck rn imo, it has a good matchup against most of the meta decks It has like a 70-30 matchup against Mewtwo because Mewtwo has no way of one shotting Gyara while Gyara has numerous ways to, and it also always one shots Mew EX It can also oneshot Celebi so its gg if you get Gyara online relatively quickly It even has a decent chance against non-Zebstrika Pikachu decks since Pikachu also has no way of oneshotting Gyara, Zapdos technically can but Zapdos needs 4 heads

Top 3 deck if you can get to a gyarados with 4 water energy on turn 4 without the opponent setting up properly or sweeping. I like the deck but calm down lol.

@@jeremyexpiritu5668 unless you get a horrible start most of the time you can stall for long enough to get Gyara online even without Misty... if you're saying it's bad because you get swept if you get a bad start, that applies to literally every deck, Mewtwo is considered the best deck atm and I've lost because of bad starts with it so many times

First lol nub, second u have to run a blue for gyrados not to one shot if they giovanni. In this particularly deck tho if u cant kill em fast enough and they get greninja its prob gg

just finished my 45 wins yesterday with something similar but I use Drud as the core damage with others as chip damage, pokemon list is: 2 Greninja, 2 Salazzle, 1 Drud, water/fire energy, feels fast and consistent rushing the event
