TAKE NOTE: It’s a good idea to place a cable tie/zip tie around the top of the rubber boot to seal it well. My primary oil kept getting contaminated with water. Rain and water from washing was running down the outer sheath and entering between the sheath and the boot and on into the inner cable, then down into the primary case and contaminating the oil. I had a friend with a sportster which uses an identical cable set up and adjuster and he had the exact same problem which had his mechanic stumped after changing the oil 3 times. It works and ain’t that expensive 😁

Great tutorial. Only odd part was talking about turning the adjuster screw clockwise to tighten before you needed to tighten. I almost buried it thinking I needed to hit a stop first in that direction.

Very nice. Also, what is your seat set up based on the banner on your channel? It looks sweet!

@@jprastrullo5207 It was a carbon fiber seat cowl that was sold by someone on the BuellXb.com forum. Unfortunately it fell off the bike on the way to work last week.

i have a question, I own a 2007 buell blast it runs great and everything I had to replace my clutch plates but I'm having issues with my clutch/transmission. it won't catch gears and when it does it'll barely catch 1st gear, once it's in gear there's acceleration but it'll go maybe 2-3mph. could someone please help me with this🙏

@@xxttec if the clutch is properly adjusted and you are having trouble shifting/staying in certain gears but not all, you can have bent/damaged shift forks.

If my clutch is slipping lightly in 6th gear when im at low speeds going to high speeds only 6th gear no other gear. Can i back out my clutch adjustment to back out the clutch plates a little? Or can i just adjust the clutch cable
@johntavismealing Жыл бұрын
Can i unscrew 3 bolts take out that spring and turn it which way to make the clutch not slip in 6th gear? Or Can i just adjust my clutch cable back it out until i feel a very medium feel on lever. Right now its hard for sure will tire your hand at red light lol
@Obliter8Dave Жыл бұрын
@Johntavis Mealing firstly, how slow are you going in 6th, and how much are you lugging? Second, how many miles are on your clutch? You can adjust your clutch at the primary (cover with three screws) to see if it is adjustable, but it may be a worn out clutch that you are pushing too hard. The clutch cable will only adjust the lever engagement of the clutch so unless you have the cable so tight that the clutch is not fully engaged, that is not the issue.

@@Obliter8Dave 40mph 6th gear lug it all the way t0 80mph. And it feels like a we slipper clutch style only do it in 6th gear i cannot do it in no other whatsoever i can try all day and cant do it in no other gear
@Obliter8Dave Жыл бұрын
Well, does it slip when you aren't lugging it? 40mph you should still be in 3rd... 6th isn't until after 100 mph
@johntavismealing Жыл бұрын
@@Obliter8Dave after i go over 110mph 5th and 6th gear slips constantly. Under those speeds no slippage occurs unless im in low speeds in 6th gear lugging playing around. So i can turn in my clutch adjustment clockwise to solve my problem correct?

on the muller power clutch will it fully engage the clutch with a 1/2 turn of clutch plate endplay?
@Obliter8Dave4 жыл бұрын
You will have to play with it. I wouldn't turn more than 1/2 turn back once you hit soft bottom in the primary since the finicky part of the adjustment is whether your clutch disengages fully when the lever is pulled since with the Muller you will have a longer pull to disengage the clutch. I found 1/4 to 3/8 turn to be the range that worked best for me.

It was a Buelltooth Quickshifter. Unsure if they are still in business.
