Watching with interest. Good to see another build being documented (like Pete Anderson), to educate and preserve our motoring heritage. Might even inspire me to finish my XA. Good stuff Philthy.

Just saw this on Faecesbook... Mate I loved it... I'm doing an XC at the moment and thought mine had a good shell... yours looks brilliant! Great to see the family get involved, mine used to far more than they do now which I miss. Will be watching this space with great interest. Cheers Pete

Thanks Pete! I am a huge fan of your video series, what you did with the XW and what you are doing to the XC inspired me to document my journey. I will be posting links to your videos throughout my series as I have learnt a ton of stuff from you. Thanks again mate!

Haha, thanks for the comment! You know, green isn't really my colour but I have to admit it looks good on the ol XB... it was a tough decision but I have decided with a different colour... to be revealed in a future video :-)

I love the lairy bright metallic green paint and white vinyl roof. It couldn't get more '70s. In fact, it kind of makes me miss my old Tara Green Allegro LE, very different car, very much the same paint colour. Greetings from the UK by the way, where people wish they could find project cars as good as this. Is it my imagination or had the straight-6 been recently rebuilt as it looked?...
@projectxb8 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for the comment. The colour is called "Tropicana Green" and the roof is actually painted white. I do like the colour but will be repainting it a different colour, will be revealed in a future video. The current engine just had the rocker cover and air filter housing painted by the previous owner, but was still in rather good condition. Thanks again.

Is the roof vinyl or painted its hard to tell
@projectxb8 жыл бұрын
It's painted
@chrish44698 жыл бұрын
It may of had a vinyl roof at some stage and painted white like that as matching metallic paint is hard to get right. I don't think XB's came in two tone paint scheme. Apart from the John Goss specials
@projectxb8 жыл бұрын
+Chris H thanks for the reply Chris, that could well be a posibility. Come to think of it I have never seen a (original) 2 tone painted XB either.

It reminded of my parent XC Falcon 500 that was green with a white vinyl roof.

Dang ! The music is extremely loud man !!

It's Led Zeppelin... why shouldn't it be? 🤔
@tonymontana897 Жыл бұрын
@@projectxb You don't get it. When your audience are watching a video, yours for example, the spoken parts are hard to hear so we have to turn up the volume. You have no mic and your not exactly close to the camera for it to record any decent sound. Then once you edit the video to add the music, the music volume is off the charts and it is very annoying to have to keep lowering the volume and then raise it back up when you start talking again because then we can't hear a word you're saying. It's like a roller coaster mate. It has nothing to do with the type of music. I love Led Zeppelin, but you've got to get the sound balance right if you expect an audience to stick around. I literally clicked away half way through your video because it was unbearable to watch. Also, I'm surprised you didn't get a copyright strike for using copyrighted music. Be careful there mate because KZbin monitor stuff like that. I wish you all the best with your build.

@@tonymontana897 um yeah dude, I do get it. It's called a joke. Let me go back 7 years and fix it for ya... sheesh... This was like the first video I ever made with zero experience where I talk for like 10 seconds in one section... criticism taken on board man, and I like to think things have come along way since then. Cant hit shit out the park when you are a one man operation doing things for free off ya own back right? 🤘🍻
