Toshi's shout after the solo is my personal favourite shout/scream in all metal. It is the stuff of legends.

I have a complaint about this song. Why the hell did X stop playing it? it's absolutely incredible! The solo > Yoshiki stick spin > Toshi scream.... It bleeds insane amazingness.

Because Jun left that year and Jun was their best guitarist they ever had . He was more technical then hide or Pata
you cant figure out break the darkness? its such a simple song.

Creative issues. Shu (Hisashi Takai/guitar) wanted more creative freedom and fronted Rommel and when it didn't work (with that name and nazi flags on stage? who'd guess!) he just pursued his technical approach of guitar. He's now guitar guru at ESP. Hikaru (Utaka/bass) joined Shu in Rommel and later Torpedo, so here's a hint as well. Another factor, and you can that read between the lines, is that Yo is rather despotic asshole. He surely earned his career with hard work but thanks to his greed X split after switching from early thrash/speed to some pop-rock/ballad bullshit he was doing near Dahlia and even before on Vanishing Vision (Un-Finished...) or Blue Blood (Endless Rain, Unfinished...). Also note those radio friendly tracks like: Easy Fight Rambling or Celebration - those are cool songs but compared to early thrash/speed like this clip or Time Trip Loving band did switch towards commercial tunes within each album so that's what happened. Some wanted to play metal, some wanted to earn money and be celebrities, and that happened.

@@droopy_eyes I know this is an old comment but Easy fight Rambling and Celebration were written by Hide not Yoshiki. I find that they are good song, they fit in their time.I do agree otherwise, they switched to some more pop song and it's too bad. At the same time, I think Dahlia is an amazing album, and if you look at what Hide did on the side before he died it's not too far from Dahlia style. My guess would be that Yoshiki wanted to stick with more ballad stuff since imo he wanted to play piano more, (and it was better marketing and received than an album like Vanshing Vision)and hide didn't really mind. I doubt that Toshi had a lof of say in it with what was happening to him and Pata and Heath.. yeah they just play.

Not Japanese, but what about Versailles, Galneryus, Jupiter, Kamijo for some power metal or Loudness for heavy.

Again, not Japanese, but here are some bands I like. MUCC (pretty good alternative metal band, kind of experimental) L'Arc~en~Ciel (alternative pop rock band, known for some anime themes but also containing great talent and variety) Melt-Banana (crazy noise-punk/grindcore band headed by a J-Pop singer on meth and a guitarist with an arsenal of bright, colorful, and brain-melting guitar effects) ONE OK ROCK (Known for catchy post-hardcore rock songs. Their new album is a bit iffy because it's heavily Americanized and very produced, so start with something like "Niche Syndrome" or "Zankyō Reference.") FLOW (They are another band that is well-known for their anime themes, but their whole catalogue is worth searching for fun, energetic pop rock with an edge.) coldrain (They're metalcore with a mainstream edge, but they're above Issues' enjoyable mindfuckery. The songs are very moving, and they only need one vocalist to pull off emotional melodies and harsh screams with perfect...
