Well Mr Huddison, Your video guides are Simply the Best! I finally received my Hotas One and used your excellent guides to set it up. Finally after flying for a month using a worn out XBox controller, and barely landing on a runway. With this Hotas One and your settings, I've finally made my very first, near perfect landing, which was slightly let down by me being not used to the joystick rudder controls. As you can probably guess, I am extremely happy with the H1. Many thanks, I really appreciate all you do to help people like me. Right, time to get back to me practicing. Stand Clear! Chocks Away!

@@Huddison I'd like to also report, It appears that the sloppy thrust lever has finally been fixed. It feels really nice, with just the right amount of firmness to it. Though that centring notch is still there, and very annoying! As soon as the warranty is up, I shall be doing something about it. LoL

Hi. My xbox Hotas One has not same settings list as in your video. At example i have nothing about autopilot. Have i to set something in firmware?

Your custom setup makes a lot of sense. I have setup the TM HOTAS One similarly for basic flight functions sans the autopilot settings that you show in this video. I will be including these settings next. I have a couple of questions. This joystick includes a dedicated internal/external camera button--the interlocking rectangles icon next to the Xbox button. Why do you assign Prev (13) to this same function? Also you assigned the landing gear toggle to Next (14)--this is defaulted for the checklist menu toggle. Do you not use the checklist or do you access it by some other means?

I'm not sure if a lot of those assignments were there by default, but feel free to un-assign what you don't want or need. I use the top menu for checklists, if I ever require them.

Has anyone had an issue where the hotas controller is registered by the game (shows up in controls menu) but the joystick and throttle dont work. I can only actuate my ailerons, elevator, throttle and flaps with the gamepad controller, cant figure it out

Could you show a larger picture of that rubber band going across the throttle.I tried to put one but it has a tendency to pull back from both full throttle as well as idle position.Another angle of it from under the throttle maybe helpful. Thanks

I seem to have a problem with trimming in MSFS using Hotas one I checked the control settings & ensured that B1 & B2 were mapped as key presses but for some strange reason whenever the buttons are released the trim reverts to maximum! Also I think my B1 button may have a fault because when I enter the control menu B1 box is always highlighted and pressing B1 does not affect what I see in the controls box! Any idea what I need to do because the cessnas are now unflyable? I also noticed a strange new key instruments overlay at the bottom of the cockpit on my screen with items like vs and Airspeed appearing in white - how do I turn these off?

The Trim reverts to maximum in both directions (Trim nose up & down)? I think perhaps your best joining our discord; you can post images there of the issues - it's not so easy for my to visualise what may be occurring.

@@Huddison Ok thanks for your suggestion! I checked the hotas one default settings for the wheel at the rear of the hotas throttle and found that that worked perfectly with the cockpit trim wheel remaining wherever you set it! It is mapped to an axis!

Any advice on how to get mine to work? I can control the Xbox menu no problem, but when I load up flight simulator, it will not show up in controls. I have updated the drivers and firmware, tested it out on PC and it works. But when I plug it into my Xbox, nothing on the sim. Thanks!

The Hotas 4 is for the PlayStation & Pc; where as the Hotas One compatible with the Xbox & Pc.

For someone who wants to control the G1000nxi system to fly approaches, what is the best way (controller, mouse, Hotas One, etc.) to be able to do that. I'm new to MSFS and am having a heck of a time being able to switch to the G1000 screen, make changes then get back out to fly the plane. Should I use a mouse in conjunction with the Hotas One? Thank you....

Yes, ideally a mouse with a controller is a good way to learn the systems.

Hi Huddison I am struggling with setup for reverse thrusters on a Hotas One when using Pmdg 737 and also on Atr! on A310 i could use a button to toggle reverse mode and then push throttle forward to adjust reverse thrust. Another click toggled reverse iff and was back to forward thrust. Any way to mimick same action on 737 and ATR? I know you have the answer! Thanks

I don't own either of those aircraft, but I would probably use 'Hold reverse thrust' for them. Our Discord might supply you with more definitive answers.

I use the XPC Yoke which has a dedicated starter key on it.

hello! I know this video is quite old but I was possibly wondering if you or someone else could anwser my question. I can hook up the flightstick to my Xbox x series, go through the pre-flight menu's with it, I did check beforehand to make sure it was switched to Xbox mode, and not PC, but I get no input from the joystick or thruster? It registers in the control menu when I go to look at sensitivites, but I go to fly a plane and I have nothing. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

You can see the Hotas in Control Options? If so, are any controls (elevator etc) bound to it. I feel our Discord will be the best place to solve this - many knowledgeable heads there.

I recommend just getting a plug and play regular mouse for the Series X. It works alot better than the Xbox controller mouse function. There are extra USB plugs on the back of the Series X. Not sure about the S.

Unfortunately, this is a bug that crept in around the 40th anniversary update. There's some advice out there stating doing a clean re-install of MSFS will solve this; but come onto our Discord to see if some of the members have less drastic advice.
