Thanks for the video and time codes man! but I still have one question left, is the "download history" the download history of the account or the xbox's itself? I'm buying a second hand 360 since my old one broke and not being able to play the digital games I bought is a bummer.

Digital purchases are linked to your account, and this is what "download history" shows. So as long as you use the same Xbox live account on the replacement 360, you will be able to download and play your games.

@@Filmire thank but I got a even bigger doubt: please if you can help.. on xbox360 If I install games on external usb storage are they treated as with internal hdd? the system will check if its the 1st installation and make them eligible to be played offline or not ? Support told me they always get the license ..but then one could easily give away usb storages full of games to friends !?

I have also heard that it's still possible to buy new games and DLC directly on the Xbox 360's hidden marketplace after the shutdown. However, it only works for content that is backwards compatible with the newer systems.

This is true. It could stay this way indefinitely or eventually stop working with future marketplace changes now that it is unsupported.

Viewing content you don't own digitally still shows you its marketplace price and you can still try to buy it. You can see this at 1:31 in the video.

Can anyone help, please?Just tried to play, Left 4 Dead 2 and my 360 is saying - "Left 4 Dead 2: Cold Stream Unsupported or corrupt downloadable content"? The same with yhe Passing and Sacrifice... All 3 were DLC. So now I cant play them, or Left 4 Dead 1 which must have been DLC as well? I've no internet here! Also, I thought the 360 store had shut down?

I had bought 3 original Xbox games for my Xbox 360 “Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Star Wars episode 3, on google it said these games were backwards compatible but when I try to play these games it reads “The game couldn’t start. Try downloading the game again” I also have an original Xbox 360 hard drive, can anyone help me?

I have the disc version of Cod: Black Ops and had downloaded DLC with my old xbox that has since stopped working. I got a new xbox and switched my hard drive from the old one into the new one (which contained all my games and DLC). However, despite the DLC being on my hard drive, it isn’t installed into Black Ops when I play it on the new Xbox. Is there any fix to this?

It could be an expired DRM license, especially if you swapped your old HDD onto your new Xbox. Assuming you're using the same Xbox Live account you bought the DLC with, you can try redownloading the DLC. That would also refresh the DRM license for that content.

I actually just finessed it. I had to download my old Xbox Live account from like 13 years ago since all the DLC was linked to that. Involved lots of trial and error and figuring out what my father’s microsoft account info was at the time

Yes, if you bought a backwards-compatible 360 game on Series X/S, you can download and play it on an Xbox 360, but only if it is indeed a backwards compatible game. Unfortunately, now that the digital store is permanently closed, there is no reliable method for purchasing new content on the Xbox 360.

You can download your content on another 360 as long as you log in with the same account you purchased the content with.

@@megalord2598 The account license is permanent and cannot be assigned to a different account, but you can reassign console licenses to a different Xbox 360. That would let other accounts on that Xbox 360 play the content. The 360 marketplace is closed, but the download servers are not. If you bought Halo from the marketplace, you should be able to download it with the account you bought it with.

If you have the physical disc, then do you have an unofficial internal HDD? The official Microsoft internal Xbox 360 HDDs came with an emulation partition that was required for the console to download updates to play OG Xbox games. Unofficial internal HDDs did not include this which may be why you're seeing this error.

I bought the FIFA 14 disc for XBOX 360 but lost it, am I able to download it, because when I search it up it says ‘Didn’t find anything’ ‘Website is wrong or down’and then when I go on the website because that’s what it tells me to do it says ‘Can’t connect to the website’ does anyone know what I can do?

I can't speak to the website errors you're seeing, but having previously owned the disc version of a game wouldn't give you the ability to download it from the Xbox digital store. You'd have to have purchased the digital version to be able to download it.

I get downloading error at 80% and nothing helps. I also get a Windows Media Center configuration menu every time on startup and i can't get rid of it.

You can set the 360 to launch into the dashboard (instead of windows media center) by going to: Settings -> System -> Console Settings -> Startup and Shutdown

In my experience, if the 360 has an internet connection, it will automatically prompt you to update it after it is booted up.
