how can u tell if a xbox has the fixed gpu or not?

Some clues: 1. If it works 2. If it has a service date 3. If it has a newer DVD drive e.g. (Xenon with Lite-on)

@@LenovoTMP 3 red lights doesn't necessarily mean a GPU issue but that was the most common cause

the PS3 look like a true console internally but the 360 looks 100% exactly like a pc inside......is it just me that thinks that?

Xenons sent in for repair usually came back with newer drives

@@CliffNark if a xenon is sent for repair, isn't it an opus board?

@@shobolanu Not necessarily, most Xenons would just get a new GPU/DVD drive. Opus was rare and produced in small numbers and would be phased out of production when Elpis boards were introduced

@@CliffNark oh I didn't know that not all repaired Xbox 360s get an Opus board, and I also didn't know there is an Elpis board

@@shobolanu Yeah so an Elpis board is a Xenon board that was modified with a new bootloader and Elpis GPU. If a Xenon has a service date on it, then it's an Elpis
