It's a right faff. I also dislike that you can't stop your name from flashing up on the top left when using the OS. I mean why would I possibly need that information? One other thing that's frustrating is changing the name on Xbox changes it on all Xbox services. So if you use a hotmail / live account for your Xbox email address, it'll change your name on there too. Oh well. Maybe Microsoft will improve it one day. You're welcome for the help. @@GrubMagnet I gotta a weird glitch lately where all those things are whited out. I typed my first name and for my last name i used colored icons, they did have color now they are solid white. Even the gold member symbol i swear it had color. I hard reset and changed my last name yet still glitched. I have 10 symbols a controler,wizard,even santa etc. All the stuff in the upper left is white now except my avatar still has color. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have access to the old owners account, which is not good for them or your son as they will then have access to any digital purchases you buy using that account.
