I wouldn’t say always…. but for the most part, yes. A few times though the better version was on Gamecube. This is especially true of a few platformers. Reason? They ported those games to Xbox later on.

I would say that Outrun 2 is 100% an arcade racer. It was a port of the arcade game that was released the year before 😊

Yeah, it was a real stretch for them to call it "simmy", Outrun 2 is also close to being 100% "arcade" in the handling sense. It's a game about the fantasy of owning a Ferrari, the cars do not handle like actual Ferraris. For people who want to play a home port of a Sega AM2-made Ferrari arcade game with realistic handling, or at least realistic by the standards of an arcade game from 1998, there's always F355 Challenge although that Sega Naomi arcade game was only ported to Dreamcast and PS2, never to the XBox. (For people reluctant to play F355 Challenge because of the Acclaim logo on the front of the Dreamcast version, F355 Challenge is completely a Sega game developed by OutRun creator Yuu Suzuki himself but Sega cut a deal with Acclaim where Acclaim distributed the home version in exchange for Acclaim covering part of the cost of the Ferrari license.)

The OG Xbox was the shit! The transition from the OG to the Xbox 360 was the last time I was genuinely impressed by a new console. Since then, video games have been developed so well that I don't know how they could get better in regards to graphics and gameplay. There's not much room for innovation at this point. We were lucky to grow up in the era that we did to witness the evolution of video games.

I was blown away by the graphical leap to the 360 and remember being in awe of the visuals in Fight Night Round 3 and at the time, it was on a CRT TV still it was that early on.

According to price charting, the most expensive Xbox games in my collection are Fatal Frame 2, Silent Hill 2, Arx Fatalis, and Simpsons Hit and Run. I’ve got a pretty big Xbox collection, and like you said, the vast majority are under 20 bucks. Good stuff.

I know that Silent Hill 2 on Xbox does have additional content the black label PS2 release did not, but the red Greatest Hits PS2 release added that Xbox content in so both platforms have a version with all the content.

Some original xbox games that display the error that they are not backwards compatible are compatible on the 360 slim if you have a microsoft hard drive and not a generic.

OG Xbox is still one of the best consoles to collect to because of how damn cheap it is even compared to 360. The priciest game I own is steel battalion and that’s only cause the controller is so pricey.

If you buy or get your 360 modded it will play all the original xbox catalogue which uses hdmi, also it plays any region, so for example castlevania in the US is 30 dollars but in the UK is 200 in CEX so you can find the alternative regions much cheaper, you can also install to hard drive permanently and no longer need the disc, obviously you keep them in your collection, if you wanted to get the game online freely, that's also an option, got obscure, def jam and the punisher, halo with four player split screen back in the day was awesome.

Story mode and create a character in Def Jam NY is actually fantastic, I played it twice recently. Outrun 2 actually has some really funny mission modes worth playing that are really funny, like math mode and girlfriend mode. The regular arcade mode is pretty sterile in Outrun 2 compared to all the silly missions you can do.

For example, the most expensive PAL game is Room Zoom (about $600) when the NTSC version is really cheap (about $10). But some games are cheaper, like Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast or Futurama.

Restless dreams was an expansion in silent Hill two that was added when it released on Xbox!! it is an expansion that allows you to briefly play as the female character that you meet in the game in a prequel or prologue so to speak, for the main game! It's pretty decent just to have something extra from that game, especially back then, but the main game is what you're really looking for!

My friend just got me that Xbox Christmas ornament this weekend, it's pretty cool. I just took a look at my collection, I only have 40 cataloged into my database but it looks like most of my games are on the super cheap side. I can't even really make a top ten to be honest. By far my heaviest hitter is Def Jam Fight for NY at $91 followed by Crimson Sea at $62. Then I've got a handful in the $30-40 range like Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball, Capcom vs SNK2 EO, Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition, and Panzer Dragoon Oorta. Everything else I've got is like $20 or less and they're mostly all solid games.

Man, I remember working at KB Toys when we got the kiosk in for this new console at the time. I was completely in awe with it from the get go and remember buying it for myself with best buy gift cards that I received that year for Xmas on NYE lol they had 2 consoles left and I got Dead or Alive 3 and NHL Hitz 2002 as my first 2 games for it. Holy crap! I still have my PS2 copy of OutRun 2006: Coast2Coast sealed because I have the Xbox version to play! This and The Warriors are clearly the superior versions, so I’d be hard pressed to say why the PS2 versions would go for more, unless they were way less common. That might be the case for OutRun, but Warriors was a pretty popular game back in the day; I’d say that the Xbox version is rarer. UODATE: Holy crap part 2! I also have SpikeOut, which I’m pretty sure I bought for less than $25 when I was buying the “low hanging fruit” during my ambitious quest to get a full Xbox set (I ended up at around 45%). These prices are crazy, and with the exception of Obscure and Ounisher, I have every other game on that list. My biggest regret was not being able to get Steel battalion when I could have gotten it for about $500 new.

The N64 wrestling games are legendary yes some of the best matches legendary stages also music & intro's but Def Jam Fight for NY is on a whole other level from the cinematic scenes engaging story customizations is king and mix martial arts get to three different fighting styles what more can you want and choose which raper wrestler you want single story mode is king after story mode you can still unlock more fighters
