Also it seems like the games will be forward compatible also. So if you get Halo infinite on the Xbox One you’ll be able to carry that over onto project Scarlett, basically it’ll work like a smart phone app. To anybody who reads this comment and hasn’t watched it yet I strongly suggest you watch the giant bomb interview with Phil Spencer because he also mentioned that all accessories will be forward compatible also as mentioned by the uploader of this video. Personally speaking I think this is great because the Xbox One controller is literally the best video game controller. The only thing I don’t like is the way the analog sticks knock against the inside of the actual controller casing but that’s a small nitpick considering it’s the most ergonomic controller I’ve used as somebody with cerebral palsy.

For real though thats not a good thing its the most expensive Xbox controller pretty much ever but it will have the shortest usable time out of all of them because you cant change the battery its a controller not a phone internal batteries suck, they suck in bluetooth speakers, headsets, people dont remember phones you used to never have to run out of battery, your tv remote doesnt have an internal battery guess why because they suck. Words of wisdom when purchasing an elite controller. Buy them at best buy and purchase the warranty. Cant risk the new controller being as inconsistent in quality as the first one.

n8rates it isn’t the elite it’s your play style. I’ve got two elites in my household each with over 10k hrs of play on them and zero issues with bumpers. I have some friends who chew through bumpers on controllers, others have trigger issues and some like myself have a issue with controllers where the left thumbstick press gets worn and wants to temporarily go into sprint during 1v1’s I never have bumper issues on any controller I use but every single one has the same left stick issue I had to relearn to play with less pressure on that thumb and finally with the elite I moved that function to a rear paddle and never had a issue again. Take the time to pay attention to what you’re feeling and how you’re gripping ,squeezing, applying pressure to the controller and I’d bet you a new elite controller you’ll learn your way out of repeated bumper failures. I could be wrong and it’s just a suggestion but I’d give it a try.

I went through 2 RB shoulder bumpers and a stick drift before my grips fell off. And after they started I pulled them off and kept playing until I broke another RB then got my third elite (in white). So yeah I could care less about grips I wanna know if the RB/LB buttons are still the gen 1 buttons like the 1st elite or if they improved the flimsy plastic parts.

@@xor1ch give it another 6-7. Or you might be lucky. If the grip doesn't warp, the left bumper usually goes after a while. My brother in law's bumper has only just broken after 3 years. Whereas I've had it happen with three of them! They wouldn't change it the second time, so I had to go on eBay and get replacement bumpers.

The first version of the elite looked and felt awesome too. It wasn't until after a few months of regular use where it all fell apart with broken bumpers and stick drift - and not just with one controller but two. So, no matter what review I see or read pre-launch. I'll have to wait and see how regular users react over a decently long period - at least 8 months. I'd have noone to blame except myself for "falling for it" after my experiences with the v1.

Rocket league is a very hefty game when it comes to mechanics. I can hop onto any shooter and get to a relatively high level with in a month as I have been with most games. Rocket league has advanced mechanics which takes 1000's of hours to master. That doesn't mean playing and being able to "accelerat".

I'll say it again, but if you're using your controller religiously, play wired. This is supposed to be high performance. If you want to sit back in your couch, you'll be fine with rechargeable batteries.

@@suppressed_viii it is an xbox. Elite. WIRELESS. controller. It is not designed to be played 24/7 plugged it to avoid the dying internal battery. This controller is designed to be useless in 1 to 2 years and be purchased again its plain and simple. I tried keeping the standard elite controller wired and the usb port wouldnt connect properly, no drop no damage just sitting plugged in and stopped working. Sure this one uses usb c but its still not meant to be used exclusively wired. Please dont do this, this internal battery is not good. IT IS A 180 DOLLAR CONTROLLER THREE TIMES THE PRICE OF A STANDARD CONTROLLER. IT SHOULD BE STRONGER, AND LAST LONGER THAN ANY STANDARD CONTROLLER. THIS ELITE SERIES 2 WILL NOT LAST MORE THAN 2 YEARS EVEN WITH MODERATE USE DUE TO THE IRREPLACEABLE INTERNAL BATTERY DETERIORATING OVER TIME AND LOSING ITS ABILITY TO HOLD A CHARGE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHANGE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHANGE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD CHANGE. IT EASILY COULD HAVE BEEN PACKAGED WITH ITS OWN SEPERATE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY WITHOUT SACRIFICING THE LONGEVITY OF THE PRODUCT.

There is an LED charging indicator on the front of the controller, just above the Profile button. Flashing white LED = charging Solid white LED = fully charged Amber LED = low battery

stick drift sucks but it is unavoidable on any controller. you could try being gentler, or get the astro c40 which has easy replacement stick modules for $20. I highly doubt they did anything to remedy drift for the s2, otherwise they would have mentioned it.

They cheaped out! 100%! Never had an issue with it on all 6 of my 360 controllers, some very old. All treated bad! Then comes the new controllers, after 6 months of low use the thing fails to center. 360s have a stronger spring, the new ones are lighter, but fail fast. Cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap £150 controller. Hello Apple lol.

My normal One Controller BT got joystick drift after 6 months, so passed on a £150 version as felt MS cut down on quality. Battery is a £30 extra in the new one, I just hope we can replace them after their years life? And isnt some shady Apple glued in BS! Still no gyro? For me, its £180 just for my broken controller with 2 triggers I can use to change gears. May just buy the 1st gen 2nd hand. Keep in mind, an Xbox One X is £120 more than the controller, I think they may be taking the piss lol.

I just wish they'd take care of existing customers that have the version one controller with the grips coming apart. My grips starting peeling literally right after the warranty was out and they told me I'm pretty much screwed. $150 for a controller that falls apart with no real fixes for it. I'll pass. I don't understand why everyone thinks having an internal battery is a good idea. If you're in the middle of a gaming session and the battery goes dead... welp that's it. After a year its charge time is halved just like every other rechargeable battery and after 2 years that 40 hr charge time is more like 5 but your stuck with this internal battery that's so awesome. At that point you either shell out another 180$ for new controller or pick up a T8 torxs and soldering iron and change it yourself. Now Sony's controllers feel EXTREMELY ANCIENT!. Sony dosen't have to but It would bolster their dominance If they took controllers seriously. Whoever Is designing Sony's standard controllers needs to come out of 1995. Wish Sony would stop being defiant on analog stick placement and just follow suit like everyone else. It can be smaller for foreign hands but It needs weight as well as raised triggers that can optionally go half deep like the Elite 2. They can even sell It for $200 because Sony Is more popular. Scuf Vantage dosen't really count It had alot of Issues and wasn't %100 Sony made.

There is one huge thing missing from the software, on PC at least. And that is the ability to map keyboard keys and hotkeys to the controller buttons and especially to the paddles. That is the most logical and natural use for the paddles when using the controller with a PC. There is 3rd party software that allows you to do this. reWASD for example, but it should be in the official Xbox Accessories app.

BEWARE! The first Elite had the identical guts as the standard controller for 60 bucks with the exception of the paddles which needed an additional board. The Elite also had massive "stick drift" issues, as well as plastic parts, breaking off "shoulder bumper" and grips. I would guess from the quality of the controller the unit cost to be about 15 bucks with the case and accessories costing about 10. I have heard so many horror stories of angry owners of this controller writing and calling Microsoft and all of their concerns fell on deaf ears. They knew that the controller was junk and still people paid that 159. price for it. Boggles the imagination. Now we have a new one for MORE....lol. As I said beware, Only a 90-day warranty? The first Gen took only about 45 to 90 days to fail. I will wait for a few months and I am sure to see the same very angry people again. I strongly recommend everyone do the same instead of trusting your hard-earned 179 bucks to a company that did not care about its customers the first time around.

Bro bro bro it has an option to make one button as a shift key usage to trigger different inputs while holding shift. Brooo this is now comparable to a keyboard. Iron Disciple I was disappointed when I bought the original elite controller and found out that I couldn’t map unique buttons to the extra triggers. In games like Elite Dangerous you can clearly see the PC crowd benefits from having all of the keys a keyboard provides. Unfortunately, without being able to map unique buttons on the elite controller, I found it a worthless purchase and returned it immediately. It will be interesting to see if they changed their mind on this like you’ve mentioned with extra input options.

My opinion on Project Scralett is that they should have ramped up graphics power and companies just up the capabilities of the games kinda like what happened with Project Scorpio and they should just stay on the Xbox One platform. It is proven to be a good console and then the people who have friends that make the upgrade but they dont have the money to make the upgrade themselves would be left behind in the last generation. Just keep the Xbox One platform and just ramp up the cababilities of the games. Rather simple

Hopefully, they've fixed the design flaw with the left bumper being thinner on some editions, causing them to break. The 360 design was better, with separate bumpers, instead of being connected by a thin bridge of plastic.

Why would you want to use a micro USB? Just more cables to ruin, and more ports to bend. But as far as turning off Bluetooth.....when you connect a controller whether it's an Xbox one S controller or Xbox one controller it uses Microsoft proprietary wireless connection that has much faster and stable connection than Bluetooth. Bluetooth feature is added for using it with your PC, tablets, smartphones, and things like Amazon Fire TV (there's a few versions of Amazon fire TV that come with a Amazon controller for gaming on them). And I personally prefer using my Xbox one S controller whenever I'm using a firestick or fire TV as its much easier and faster to get around than the included remote.
