You can take the USB\ps2 adapter apart and extend the wire going to the push button to add a arcade button to it. It will allow you to turn on the Xbox with a button, get to Home Screen, and when press and held brings up the shut down option.

My stock arcade one up monitor went out and I just replaced it with the HP 17 inch lcd monitor/VGA and didn’t know which direction to go whether PC or pi but I have this Xbox one just sitting here collecting dust. Now Im going to change asteroids cabinet art to a awesome Cuphead cabinet design.

Nice! Have a TMNT cab now (my only one) that I can't bring myself to mod. Hoping to find another cheaper cab in the future to house my old PS3 since I have a ton of great PSN Arcade games on it (The Simpsons Arcade, Street Fighter IV, Final Fight, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Pac-Man CE). May also consider adding my Dreamcast or a gaming PC. Would love to add all three - seems like there is an option for that. Would love to see a video with the Dreamcast sometime (and a PS3 if you have one!).

i thought of going simple. putting a 13" tv slightly raised in front of the 1-up monitor. putting the console inside the empty space in the cabinet and running power out into a power strip. the problem is the hole made for the power is obviously way way much smaller than the xbox power cord.

I always thought the "PS2 adapter" on X-Arcade was more like a PS/2 connection (keyboard/mouse style). I had no idea it was really a Playstation 2 port! I don't play a lot of the new fighting games but that cabinet looks so good, it makes me want one.

I had a orig xbox running coinops in a arcade cab 7-8 years ago. Was pretty nice. Gen 1 orig xbox is a player!

Retro Ralph The prebuilt versions from Punks are ok but they are not configured well. The wheel is responsive but the main menu is jerky. I would build my own or wait for newer release builds. Probably be ok for newer users to play around with.

There’s no need to splice them if you use a HAPP competition stick or something with a .187” connector ... a SEIMITSU LS-32 is also an option that wouldn’t require splicing.

Very cool! I was thinking of these for taking arcade 1up replacement controller and plug it into my. Box for Xbox asteroids on my 4k. Now if I can come up with some kook new way to run Mass Effect. Haven’t figured that one out yet.

Easiest way: buy hdmi video converter for arcade1up, plug Xbox 1 in, play with Xbox controllers :)

I've debated putting extra pcbs in my cab and doubling my wiring so I could have my pi running my cab but also my switch. I would leave the switch doc on the back of the cab so the cab would run off the pi 90% of the time, till I docked the switch. Wouldn't be a hard mod, just expensive as boards that work on switch are over $50 each. But I don't see why it wouldn't function in theory.

@Rufus Watson arcade shock sells a connector that doubles the inputs from their pi board to their ufb pcb that works on switch. Super easy, just expensive for everything

@Rufus Watson if you meant how I'd switch which system was working, my cab has a TV in it that switches hdmi channels based on what is functionally "on". If I trun on the pi through my hooked up alexa command "Alexa turn on arcade cabinet" my pi turn on which turns on the TV and boom done. If Id want to turn on the switch, I'd just dock it to the back and the TV would turn itself on to the correct channel and I'd be good to go.

That's a great question, I'm not 100% sure I know the answer though. There are new interface boards that are compatible with the consoles without using this. One if the Brooks encoder and there's another one called the SJ@JX, but I can't remember the exact model. This method would be overly complicated since there are new more simple solutions.

Nice and easy tutorial. If you wanted to spend a little more and get slightly faster encoders, you can get a pair of the Brook UFB encoders. :) Otherwise, everything is the same. I've been wanting to do this with my PS4.

I just tried the SJ@JX and i cant seem to find the “select” port and also the encoder works but coinops will not recognize it properly: i have the xbox 360 encoders. Cody Horne There are a few new encoder boards that make this process a lot easier. Do a search for Xbox one encoder board on amazon and one should come up by a company called SJ@JX

Buy a brook universal fightboard,a monitor switcher and a usb switcher and then U can play Xbox one and your pi stuff. 2 systems in one. Iv done it and there's no lag. I will put up a video of how to do it in the next couple of months

I have the brooks board, I haven’t been able to buy a second one due to them being sold out. I haven’t checked lately but they seem to sell out quickly. I don’t have any desire to run a pi in this build but that’s a cool solution if you’re looking to do that. I’m not the biggest Pi fan, I try to stay pi free on the channel just due to the saturation of the topic on KZbin. I would love to see your video showcasing the dual system configuration though. @@RetroRalph hi Ralph u r right there is so much pi stuff out there and so much what I would call guff lol but I have managed to get a good damaso setup with 95 percentage of rooms running with full bezels. Having said that there are a lot of great classic available on the Xbox one now. I'm located in the UK and there are brook boards on eBay but also on arcadeworlduk . I will defo get a vid u at some point but my arcade cab is located down in my shed/shack and all wrapped up at the moment as it's very cold over here. hopfully soon it will get better lol.
