i did like your comment but pretty please dont say "actual" 4k. this console does not have the horsepower to run everything in native 4k. you need the newest graphics cards to run every game that has the option. the "true" 4k thing is all marketing. expect lots of rendering. Sonys machine is the better machine. they dont make wild claims and its only 50 dollars more than the base ps4. you get marginal improvements. Sony designed the unit for PSVR compat and to sell TV's. Microsoft is making wild claims and charging a shitton of money. They still have a shitty controller with free floating analog sticks and crappy bumper buttons to boot.

Josef Nemec... Rich did mention that already in the clip. There will be loading speed and general stability in framerate improvements without any patch for BC360 games however these will still have 900p or 720p if they don't have a patch. I recently got the enhanced update patch for BC360 Fallout 3 (so all up so far my enhanced games are Diablo III, Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and World of Tanks), that brings the game up to 1080p (unsure if the framerate is 30 or 60)..

Blackmarsh63 A Microsoft dev created some emulator tech that raises the resolution, all on the emulator side (Since Microsoft isn't allowed to touch any of the game code, for legal reasons). Same for Original Xbox backwards compatible games. 9x res for base X1, 16 times for X1X, I think. Pretty incredible.

they still have the problem of no exclusive games. no bloodborne, no nioh, no Nier, ect ect. the ps4 is an absolute must for all hardcore gamers. casuals might be excited for the xbox one x. I personally preordered one, but I am not excited and my personal reason for getting one is the original xbox back compat library soon to come.

Great research DF. I would suggest something unrelated but vital to production. A slight cut of 3-6 dB between 200-500 Hz on voice recordings. It will take out the mud and boom and provide clarity and speech intelligibility. Keep up the great research :)

I am so happy for console gamers after watching this, finally they are coming to experience locked framerates (30 or 60, whatever is the target), filtered textures (it has been like that for 15 years on the PC), acceptable loading times and higher asset quality and/or resolution. A little too definitive a statement. Best place to play games is subjective. Ex: if you're into Japanese games (even though stuff like Code Vein/Final Fantasy XV/Dragonball Fighter Z/etc is getting enhanced for it), Xbox is never going to be the best place to play. If you're someone who cares about peak end performance above all else, PC is always going to win because there's no ceiling on what you can spend to upgrade your setup. If you're into taking games on the go, Switch. Budget console gaming, Xbox One S/PS4 Slim. Multiplayer gaming, any Xbox One family console. All comes down to value. Different ecosystems offer different kinds of value. The extreme value of Xbox One X for me, I own almost 250 games on X1, including 25+ that are getting X1X enhancements for free. It's the best place to play for me because I own Witcher 3 and all my games on Xbox, all my friends play on Xbox, etc. Different for everybody though, certainly. Great that all the platforms have different advantages to offer people.

Since when was 16x anistropic filtering demanding? 4x or 16x, I cant even remember when this even mattered performance wise on pc. You always, always go for the 16x as it does not tax the system in any noticeably way.

Consoles have to share their memory bandwidth with the cpu. Anisotropic filtering uses memory bandwidth. Videocards have their own memory.

PS5/X4 might suffer from the same problem in some games. As long as there is unified memory there will be the risk the devs cut down on AF to give the cpu more memory bandwidth or push other visuals. Videocards will always have the memory bandwidth advantage.

Well, with the X1X costing 500 bucks, while the base X1 sunk to 230, the base PS4 250 and the Pro costing 370, you pay the price of getting a better console. The PS4 Pro is awkwardly underpowered for 4K, no doubt, but it still delivers benefits for 4K screens and costs 130 bucks less than the X1X, I wouldn't call it a "mistake". Still, no HDR BluRay support is seriously dumb

GamingSage From a hardware perspective it's not exactly just a "more powerful Xbox One." Whereas the PS4 Pro is literally just a PS4 with extra guts on the motherboard, the Xbox One X's architecture is pretty much completely different to the base Xbox One's. So, Xbox One games are essentially being emulated on Xbox One X since it's basically an entirely new system. Hence calling it backwards compatibility.

For the remainder of this weird console generation games will be compatible with both the base Xbox One and the Xbox One X. Microsoft is mandating that all games have to be tailored for and functional on the base Xbox One, while enhancing games for the Xbox One X is optional. That being said there's currently 162 titles with confirmed Xbox One X enhancements. PC gamer here with a PS4, had a switch and sold it, deemed it unrequired currently. Rushed hardware which i've had hour long debates on with no one ever being able to disprove the facts on a lot of the design. Honestly as much as I wanted to switch to be the new vita for me and sit nicely in the PC+PS4 setup it has no bloody place. Waiting for a hardware revision to see if nintendo actually pull their finger out. It also seems like they blew their load already looking at the releases for next year... I've owned nintendo consoles for over 20 years but I am more likely to buy the sad excuse of an upgrade that is the ps4 pro to downscale spiderman than buy a switch at this point. Praying for a hardware revision and Metroid Prime 4 to be good

CalvitoHúmedo if the game has unlocked frame rate and the hardware is sufficient enough it will run at 60. Which it doesn't and believe me my gtx 1080/i76700k set up struggles to run 4k/60/ultra on modern games. So this thing will surely disappoint especially when these developers will do the bare minimum to push out these patches. I learned that with the pro. Not being a hater. I'm just saying.

Just like the month head start PS4 had on Xbox one and the price difference will make a huge impact on sells. This time the pro had a year start and I wouldn't be surprised if they were ready to drop the price. Xbox one X is a beast of a console. I'm hoping it provides healthy competition to get better hardware out of Sony in the next gen consoles. I'd get the X if it wasn't for the exclusives being on pc and honestly always have wanted to build a gaming pc. Can't wait to see more test, great video

I just got the xbox one s 1TB with cod ww2, ac origins, halo 5, rainbow six seige, quantum break, extra controller and 3 months xbox live for £248!! I cancelled my xbox one Scorpio pre order. I will get the xbox one x early next year not in a big rush.. i want more games to release

ps4pro hasn't have retro compatibility hasn't have 4k Blu-ray hasn't have xbox live with a great catalog hasn't have 4k performance hasn't have better graphics... I don't see sonys advantage in anything

No one uses backwards compatibility as confirmed by Microsoft themselves, Xbox live is trash, compromised 4K 30 fps, and no you don't have better graphics at all. UC4,HZD, Persona 5, BloodBorne, Ratchet and Clank, Spider-Man, God Of War, Days Gone, Detroit Become Human, Death Stranding, The Last Of Us 2 etc graphics and gameplay completely stomp anything the X has and thats just a plain fact. What does the X have to show for it so called "power" Super Lucky Tales? Minecraft 4K? Sea Of Thieves? LOL, what an absolute joke. PS4 is first place by miles and is completely dominating and has no doubt already won this generation. PC+PS4+Switch is the best combo and is all you need. Xbox offers nothing and is obsolete. Truth Hurts.

It is true though, Microsoft confirmed themselves that basically no one even uses backwards compatibly you can even quickly look it up yourself. Also I 100% with Dbzfan comment.
