Whether or not these rumors are true, can we all just acknowledge how exhausting it is to be a fan of Xbox? Their leadership has continuously dropped the ball with it's messaging and lack of clarity. @@dotty1774 dotty, Sony does charge an upgrade fee to go from the PS4 to the PS5 versions of their 1st party games. That was kind of the joke I was making. It was $10 to upgrade from the PS4 Forbidden West to the PS5 version for instance. They did a grace period initially after a lot of public outcry, but they charge now.

What if Xbox included the investment to acquire ABK, operating/development cost when it comes to first party games and how much they pay for 3rd party games to come to Gamepass. I think the criticism of Xbox execs as somehow over communicating or being overly friendly with fans as compared to Sony and Nintendo is a little unfair. Sony hasn’t been doing anything different for the last two generations, they make great hardware and they publish lots of quality first party titles, what’s there to talk about? Xbox has been trying to move to a different business model, the subscription, the two SKU launch, the remote play, the day one launches on PC - they kind of have to be very in touch with the community to explain this stuff and their thinking. And just look at the past two weeks when they are silent, the internet loses its mind and convinces itself there won’t be another generation of Xbox.
