Well it doesn't help that there are rumors about switch 2, ps5 pro, and whatever the hell Microsoft made up about a future super console People won't buy a switch if a better version is supposed to come out The ps5 slim was just for appearance it didn't do anything different other than attachable disc drive and 150 more gigs and the alleged ps5 pro "might be announced this year!" Console sales are down because inflation is OUT OF CONTROL. People can spare a pocket full of change every month for gamepass or $100 a year in game purchases... very few have $500 to drop all at once on a console.

XDefiant is actually huge for a big portion of the CoD community. Specifically people who were fans of the “golden era” i.e BO/MW2/BO2. Development is being lead by one of the old executive producers of CoD Mark Rubin and the sales pitch is literally “What CoD used to be”. If they can deliver on this promise and keep content up (and so far they have) it will have a strong dedicated community of old CoD fans like myself. Also it does not release until May 21st.

​​​@@elbonnybarIf they switch off of creation engine their games will not only be drastically different but people will complain about the modding restrictions you get on other engines. The reason Bethesda uses Creation Engine is because it has the tool sets for the types of games they make, with things like information tracking and the built in physics. It's fine to want more from Bethesda, but I don't think it's as simple as switching engines like a lot of people say. The things people enjoyed about games like Skyrim wouldn't be the same outside of that engine. I think that's why they still use it (and update it) Also not to mention they've got what, hundreds of employees with years under Creation Engine? So switching would require all of the employees and the development leads to learn completely different engines and adapt to making games that way. That type of process takes a while Personally I think their design philosophy towards games should change and it's not the engine itself that needs to change but that's just my opinion

Yeah good thing i did not yet buy the game. Cause even thought i live in EU (Latvia), Sony decided "nope you live in a shithole, we wont even bother granting you access to our PSN service". So yeah, unless this shit gets reversed, i would have been screwed if i bought the game. 2 Friends who i know from here have bought the game, so yeah, they will have to deal with this issue or be banned from playing the game

PS consoles sales are 30% down only cause last year they were up like 200% because they didn’t have as many consoles available in 2022. That’s why 2023’s numbers were so high. Xbox consoles were already down 30% last year, and another 30% down this year. Context is very important in this case especially because one console is almost ready to cross 60 million consoles sold, and the other is only roughly around 23-25 million.

My hot take: I don't want another Batman game (yet). We've had so many with the Arkham trilogy plus Origin, as well as the Telltale game. I'd rather get a Superman game, or that Wonder Woman game that was teased a few years back. Or how about a Green Lantern game? I love Batman but it's starting to feel like oversaturation.

this is spot on @thegameplayer125. The future is streaming games and the next console release will surely be the last one before the idea just goes away. Everything that can be streamed, will be streamed. Music bit that bullet already, movies and TV are almost completely streaming now and games are the last to fall to streaming. The only weird glitch in this will be Nintendo who actually might still be able to sell you hardware and be the only console albeit a handheld one where the game runs on the device.

you cant tell me that the priceing of the games and the hardware are not lossing customers as it it clearly is. what good is all the tek and inovation in games if so many people cant afford it and the prices are not ever going down and will only go up, they are priceing themselfs out of the market. i baught my PC 10 years ago when i was working, now i am retiired i cant afford to even upgrade my GPU, so far i have been able to play the latest games but only by lowering the settings and its just a matter of time when even that is not going to cut it. food, rent,electric and gas have riased by 30-40 percent a rise i have not seen in my lifetime and i am 68. we are being gouged big time and we are putting up with it.

Bethesda could always give the reins to Obsidian in developing a new Fallout Game, especially considering both studios are now under the same Microsoft umbrella. Starfield update is curious, primarily with the performance mode update. Todd used the "It was design decision" excuse as to why Starfield was originally capped at 30fps, but evidently, that notion has evaporated into the ether. Speculation is that Starfield is more than likely being ported to the PS5/PS5 Pro. When you connect the dots, it all makes sense: 1. Microsoft's shift in strategy in their game distribution. 2. Satya Nadella's statement of 7 of the top selling games on PlayStation were from Microsoft 3. Fallout 4 selling 8 million on PS4 alone, thus a game like Starfield is likely to do well. 4. A PS5 port already exists as revealed by the leaked documents (ABK acquisition), so porting it wouldn't be very expensive.

The only way for them to clean up this mess is to retcon the events of suicide squad or announce it as a different universe.

When it comes to XBOX.. I think they know what they're doing. Every time a new console gets released, it seems like there aren't enough titles to show the power and capabilities of said console. I think XBOX is trying to make more and better games while also staying in that hardware area so that there will be no shortage of games for the future of hardware testing and potentially for any company that makes a new console.

@@gkey06 You can say the same thing about PlayStation. they both have their own heavy hitters. nintendo definitely gets more attention with their 2016 hardware that everyone is slowly hating more by the day and their practices. at this point most ppl that wanted the console they wanted has gotten their hands on what they want. so now its that slow dead zone of sales slowing down because of that. hell ppl have been picking up older hardware because of sever shutdowns and no support. emulation is at an all time high. there's a a lot of variables here. the gaming market sucks rn. and theres a big transition happening. a new era is coming. and I have a feeling its gonna be cool and suck at the same time

xbox is holding the place for racing game fans. You have forza H series Sony cannot touch in there dreams, + Xbox was always more multiplayer focused. Might sound like hate but sony games have always this period where you can just put the controller away for 10 min and its fine....I believe thats why helldivers is such a succes rn , it removes the classic sony bs out of the game(exept there network for some reason, sad they had to partner with sony, would not happen if they did with xbox)

Anyone else not a fan of VR? I get the immersion aspect that some love but for me it’s too much. I know video games aren’t necessarily the healthiest activity but something about having a screen for that long that close to my eyes that puts me off. But hey I’m glad those who are fans of it are getting new games, I just really want another great Arkham game not on VR and definitely not live service.

VR is awesome for a half an hour... but I wouldn't want to crack out on it like I do with a PC, The biggest problem with VR is it really doesn't have a lot of full fledge games, most of their games are smaller and feel more like tech demos.

the problem with the Helldivers 2 thing is that, a lot of countries don't support PSN. which means players who are in those countries who literally can not make a PSN account are going to be blocked from playing the game. if this goes through i hope those players can get a refund cause this is literally a bunch of BS.

The second is that sonyis notoriously bad at keeping data secure, so it's an extra unnecessary risk for people who don't have a Playstation. The third is that this 3rd party account thing is bad to begin with. Just because other games do it doesn't make it ok. They are purely farming "users" on the back of successful games. It's predatory and data greedy.

From should reimagine the Dark Souls games in Elden Ring's style. Turn all 3 into one massive interconnected map with zones like ER. That way it saves some time on the lore and design front (since they can reuse some bosses and already have the world built). But they can also add more stuff, expand the world a bit, redesign it a little since it will have a dedicated jump button, pull off some of their classic trolls where players expect, say, a trap from one direction but get hit from another, etc., etc. I'm sure Dark Souls fans would love it (I know I would), plus that would let all the new people who jumped in for ER go back and experience a version of games they might not have played.

As an xbox fan, I'm tired of seeing their showcases of nothing but indie games and games that will never come out and their BIG reveal being a single game we have to wait till holiday season to see only for it to be released half baked or an underwhelming release. They need game testers and need to streamline some of these games. We get it, big games might have a couple flaws, I'm not asking for a broken game, but telling people to wait 5-8 years for a basicB game and still want full support of their customer isn't reasonable anymore. Convincing people to play gamepass is getting harder and Steam seems like the more appealing route.
