Steam is PC while Xbox is a console. PC games haven't been bound by a single hardware since the 80's. (like C-64)

That's because Steam deck is still a PC. PC is different from consoles as my PC games has never been bound by one set of hardware. The Steam Deck did exactly what Valve wanted it to do. Before the Deck pc handheld were expensive.

I'm actually looking forward to 2026 but personally for the Alienware PC / Xbox hybrid version to get the highest end experience available. Thats also the difference between sticking to a set console architecture. Take the PS5 generation as an example. The PS5 was underpowered on release without full rdna 2 capabilities like VRS, VRR and mesh shaders. The PS5 pro then released constricted to the PS5 SDK instead of using a similar SDK to the Series S/X which have full rdna 2 SDK. And the PS5 Pro CPU will be nearly 8 years out of date by 2028. And it was put on sale with no solid performance benchmark being released by Sony. With Xbox, and their upcoming Hybrid model, you aren't constrained to a particular box throughout the generation. If you want the standard Xbox hybrid by Xbox, fine. If you want say a Xbox hybrid a little more powerful, you just match a specification and price point you prefer. Or if you want a top of the range, then you can spend extra and get a machine that will smoke everything available and only need ONE device. The difference is the money you pay will get you the specifications you want and pay for and it will say on the tin before you buy it what you will get and there will be KZbin reviews of it clearly showing benchmark performance results.

A lot of us have actually wanted and hoped Xbox and Microsoft would do. With both PC and Xbox consoles being the places I play majority of the time on, everything we're hearing about the next Xbox consoles and the integration of Xbox and Windows on PCs and mobile handhelds is very exciting.

I would be kind of excited to see xbox AND PS go the pc hybrid route......just to get to a point where the sky is the limit. We dont have to have 5090's obviously but if we were able to get 4080 performance or amd's version of similar performance that would be cool. I would really like to see ALL of the games I own from xbox being able to play on a higher end pc. Im sure they are working on a lot to make it work coming from a closed system like that to open PC but that would be cool. I realize some games are play anywhere but will we get the benefit of pc that can do a whole lot more than a SX or ps5pro for that matter with the games that are made for console only. I bet this is harder than we think to make this work whether its licensing or just getting the game to work right but im all for it. Interesting to see how they pull this off. Like once this happens there is no going back to regular consoles.

PC's and cell phones do the same thing w/ OEM and Xbox who is under Microsoft (that has been doing this) is following suit. Dedicated gaming consoles are my main deal, but I would want some pc like features like upgradability for the SoC, ssd memory, etc.

You need to read what Jason Ronald said at CES (from Tom Warren) he confirmed bridging Xbox OS to PC in 2025. Also people ignore that although SteamOS is really good, it still has major compatibility issues, MS/Xbox has time.

Hey, thanks for pointing out the media biases once again... because now they are trying to say steam vs. Xbox... but when it was just Xbox aiming this way... Xbox lost its way and identity... so has Steam lost it's identity going to Lenovo S?... hmm 🤔 I just hope Xbox goes 3rd party in hardware, allow the likes of Asus, Lenovo, ect. To make a Nvidia powered Xbox.... due to RTX 5070 release and affordability, this makes sense more now with it's $500+ gpu entry price tag. Microsoft having that AMD partnership restricting them from making Nvidia console themselves right now... but shouldn't stop them from allowing a 3rd party vendor from doing so,.. if Xbox becomes console third-party? Letting other manufacturers create an Nvidia powered console using 5000 series in Xbox units, all while still making there own official licensed products $699-799 or maybe 899 if done right... with steam and epic stores... Still think that 399-550 handheld is very much needed before or alongside the next Xbox with universal Xbox UI... and expansion card compatibility for both. Xbox has a small window to win and win big mid to late 2025-26 at the latest!

Xbox’s All access program is perfect for quicker upgrades in regards to consoles. Right now it’s either $25 or $35 a month for the console and 2 years of Gamepass ultimate.

The reason Microsoft is going with this approach is cuz they themselves can't sell consoles. And if you can't sell consoles, you can't sell games. So they are expanding to other devices to find new markets. That is the reality of the situation without the cope fluff.

The reason why they don't sell as many Consoles is the constant media circus against Xbox giving the general public the impression that Xbox bad Playstation good. But I'm happy. In never have to buy a playstation again next generation. I will happily forget all the completed games on my playstation account to get out of the playstation ecosystem. That's how little PlayStation's ecosystem offers an informed customer.

This marks Xbox Game Studios' 11th year without any Game of the Year wins Xbox won't have exclusives going forward. Everything is timed exclusive at most. If some games are exclusive it's gonna be incidental at best, the "case by case" argument is by and large going to be multiplatform, timed, and with maybe a few (very few) outliers pathetic af LMAO

It pushes people to pc. If console generations are shorter, it changes peoples minds on investment. Game pass or not people. Xbox series s was a mistake, and starting a new generation might be good. Turning a console to gaming pc is a good idea. I still value building my pc.
