#7 is Tamika face sculpt and #10 is Simone face sculpt. These Looks dolls from 1 to 12 all have a unique face sculpt that are completely new for the line. Now appearantly 13 through 18 coming up are reused with different screenings. Great reviews!

I'm sure you're aware, but if you want simple and well-executed fashions, I can't think of anything better than the Barbie Fashion Model Collection. I know very few of these dolls are poseable (heck I don't know how great an articulated silkstone is) but the clothing is immaculate and the makeup is so striking. These dolls are my all time favorites and made me want to be a collector.

Yes, the BFMC dolls are amazing. I think that was Mattel's best line as far as quality of doll making, particularly in its first 15 years. However, they are basically out-of-reach due to price. I'm not sure if you have checked the secondary market prices lately, but most are $200 and up (some over $1000). It also depends on the era one likes. I was in my 20s when the line was in full swing, and I hated the vintage faces and couldn't relate to the fashions. So, I passed them up even when they went on sale. However, now that I am older, I like them better. I have a few and would buy more if they didn't break the bank.

I love them so much ❤️ The first three waves were all new faces which I love , In the fourth wave,they are using some of the faces from the first wave , the tall blond girl and the curvy doll with the afro

I was completely weirded out by the made to move body at first, but then I bought my first one on clearance and had so much fun playing with her poses! It can be so much fun to set up displays with them.

The ankle articulation on the barbs makes it so they can wear flat or high heel shoes. Since they make both for them. 😉 😘💨

I really enjoyed your review of these girls; I have them both and love them so much. All the Looks dolls (so far) are brand new face sculpts and you can find the names on the Mattel Creations site. Your petite is “Tamika” and the tall girl is “Simone.”

The Barbie Basics modelmuse collection totally changed the game. I purchased the entire collection when the cost was $19.99 each. I have to agree with you about the model muse as well and the pivotal model muse body. I'm getting use to the Made to move bodies. The petite mtm bodies are adorable however I have a hard time finding clothes that fit. I especially love the taller mtm bodies. I also shop @entertainmentearth they are a great toy store! I also collected all the Barbie Signature looks. I really enjoyed your in depth review.

I like how this line comes with their own stands! It's very rare you can find a doll that comes with their own stand. Love that! You are making me want one! I'm thinking of getting the red headed one with the curly hair and metallic outfit! She is gorgeous!

I loved the #10(Simone) so much that I got 2 of them! I used one of them to rebody my Barbie Basics #4. Both dolls are absolutely gorgeous with immaculate makeup and hair! Number 10 is definitely more of a 💯! She's so perfect and stunning!

Please do a video on cutting the hip joint to allow for more range of pose-a-bility. I've done this with Barbie extra dolls. The Barbie fashionista dolls from 2009-2010 have FANTASTIC upper chest movements and great hip articulation. Why Mattel doesn't use that torso design on the barbie extra dolls is beyond me. These Barbie look's dolls are FABULOUS, but I'm like you; I just do not like the "made to move" bodies. Love the their pose-a-ble bodies but hate the visible rivets and double joints. Great review as usual!

Wow, I never expected you to get these since they are made to move. I have both of them plus the dolls on the back of their boxes except the curvy girl. I'm a fan of this line and old Basics lines. My only issue is that my Simone had a stiff arm and I should've used heat to fix it and I ended up kinda of messing up the elbow, but it does sort of pop back into place.

I bought #10 to act as a manikin for lighting and pose references for art. I've been wanting a fashion doll for that purpose forever but the ones I like have been either $$$ or not poseable enough, up until now! I'm so excited to have a beautiful art model!

My main issue with Barbie Looks is how difficult it is to get them and how they do not go on sale. Wave 1 is already ridiculously overpriced on the secondhand market and I was only able to grab one. They amazing and easily the best line Barbie is currently producing.

I used entertainment earth for my in box G3 monster high collection because I knew I could trust they would come in good condition. I have a full out of box collection and the doubles of my favorites in box so that I feel free to play with my faves without having to worry about them. I have Barbie looks dolls number 2 (curvy afro girl), number 8 (platinum blonde pixie cut girl) and 11 (the ginger girl) and I LOVE them. They are some of my favourite dolls now! I wish I could get the very dark skinned model number 10 but she is nowhere to be found where I live. I could import her from the US but the shipping costs are very high.

@@xCanadensis All 12 dolls up to this point are the first to use their own sculpts, so they are the first to be an official “Simone” and “Tamika.” Lina and Victoria have had other dolls come out after them using their faces, and Andra, Elle, and Victoria have reappearances in the upcoming wave 3.

These Looks dolls and the Barbie Extra are my absolute favorites. You are right about the Made to Move joints, they are ugly. However, I am a story teller and posability is crucial since dolls can’t change facial expressions. I played with Mod Barbies as a kid, but I am not nostalgic. The best thing Mattel has done is these two lines and I love the diversity. My collection strives to include all ethnicities and body shapes. Mattel cuts corners like crazy but the Looks line is exceptional.
