Hey Brooke. I'm a customizer, decidedly not well known and not particularly skilled all things considered (my hands shake so repainting is sometimes a challenge) but here's what I had to learn to remember: Customizing dolls is an art form just like drawing and painting. And every artist who draws, paints, makes digital art or customizes dolls has their own unique style. My style doesn't align with the styles of well known artists like Dollightful or Poppen Atelier, and while I think those artists are brilliant at what they do, I don't want my style to look just like theirs. Your customs, your style, you choose whether those comments apply to your work or not and if not, dismiss them and keep on keeping on. I've genuinely told people who offered unsolicited critique where to shove it more than once. Like you, I have left projects unfinished due to comments on the work in progress photos. And it can be hard as heck to push past the comments that discourage you. But so worth it in the end when your newest custom is standing in place of pride with your collection and you can look at her and say "I made that!"

The sticky faced Barbie is from one of the jewel line mermaid during the longest hair phases, there were other dolls in the line, it was one of the most cloned dolls in the 90’s she would have come with Velcro hair accessories, the face should hold up during the de sticking process, if she’s from that era she could be wearing the brunette version’s mermaid outfit

Hey! I had the mermaid doll (the second one) I don’t remember the company but I remember it is a bootleg of jewel hair mermaid Barbie but I got it at a beach gift shop! Hope that helps!

Omg I adore the mermaid! she was my favorite childhood doll. I can't remember much from my childhood but I exactly remember how I went with her and two G2 ponies into a public pool and played for hours. I sadly don't have my original childhood G2 ponies but I still have my mermaid! sadly I cut her hair shorter. I also found a second one at a fleamarket without her fin, but I just live her sm that I picked her up anyway, I really need to restore both 🥺

Hey Brooke, I’m glad you liked everything and I’m sorry I should have included a list so you know what the heck I was even sending lol 😂 the wig is from createable world and yes that’s the anniversary Bratz ( I really wanted to be into Bratz so I keep trying but I just don’t think they are for me ) the Barbie was a swap meet find she is a Bill Blass design. I thought she would make a cool David Bowie custom but will never get around to it so your bonus lol. As far as the RH pop up you made the right choice. I won’t go on for a hour like I could but it was honestly the doll fans that made that event so there will be more. I know you like merch as much as I do so that’s what made me think to send you the bracelet my husband wore LOL 😂 yep it’s used but I figured you wouldn’t mind since you were just displaying it 😝 wish shipping wasn’t so high or I’d send so much more! I have the Mermaid Fantasy dolls and I wanted to display them sitting down, however I will find some other way to display them. They are favorites of mine and I don't want to ruin them. 🙂. Thank you for warning us about displaying them sitting down. I always wanted the Enchated dolls but I didn't pick them up when they were released (no funds at the time) now they are too expensive to buy. Even the used ones are expensive.

Hey Brooke about the rude customizing comment: I always hear you say you make customs but I havent really seen them besides the rainbow high ones so I been wondering why IS that so. The rude comment is probaly from someone who has done customs for years and forgets that with each custom your doll become better! Dont be afraid to expriment and try Id love to see your customs!
