Another great video Mike! I completely agree with and share your message about anxiety. I suffer with PTSD and find getting out in the wild really helpful in helping me deal with my issues; whether that be a walk, a wild picnic or an overnight camp. Your advice to anyone who is thinking about wild camping but who is unsure is excellent. Personally something I do similar to your lamps is purchase a pack of glow sticks from Poundland (or somewhere similar) and place one or two in my tent or around my bivvy to create a full ambient light that’s lasts all night. If anyone reads this in the situation above, rest assured I’ve never been confronted and you probably won’t either - keep your camp distant and hidden, be tidy and quiet, and you should be fine. I went on a camp two weeks ago and loved it! Mike, your message is really encouraging and I am sure it will help someone - I find a lot of inspiration from your videos. Keep up the good work!

I find that just getting out into the woods is so very beneficial to our mental wellbeing. I've always done (did) wildcamping to help myself cope with the totally unnatural ways of today's life. I've had to leave due to moving from one part of the country to another to be with Karen, also find work and use my weekends to visit my parents back up in the Black Country. Unfortunately where I live nowadays there's very little woodlands to talk of. The only way I can see me doing more vids again is to travel back to my old locations back up north. This helps me a lot.. I’m 46 and have wanted to solo camp all my life. I used to stay up at night and draw my camp layouts and make equipment lists.. this year my kids are older now so I have more freedom so I’m headed out to Algonquin park here in canada and I’m doing a short 3 day canoe solo backwoods trip.. I definitely have some anxiety over bears but I’ve decided to force myself to do it. My life is closing in one me and it’s now or never. I’ve been bitten by dogs several times in my life so I have this unreasonable idea that all wild animals are going to attack me.. I’m not sure I’ll ever get over it but I can’t let it stop me from heading out into the woods. Thanks again!

Hi Michael. Great to see you out in the woods. Was wondering only the other day if you had managed to get out. Thank you for the sound advice about camping out solo. I haven’t helped myself over the years by watching & reading to much fiction if you get my drift. Very bad for ones imagination. Thanks for a super video & keep safe- Andy

Hi Andy, thank you my friend....I try to get one vid per month done, if I manage to do that then I'm a happy man 😁👍🏻🌳🌳🌳 Heheh yes I must admit I'm a horror fan and it makes me chuckle to myself when I wake in the morning at camp and wonder if there's any Blair witchery gone on heheheh! 😁😉🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳 But yeah in all fairness sometimes there are noises out there that I cannot put a picture to. Nothing in this country to worry about wildlife wise. Thank you for watching mate its really appreciated and its great to hear from you. Here's wishing you a super weekend All the very best Mike

Hi Lee, aw mate hey how kind of you🤗🌳🌳🌳 your words are full of motivation for me to keep filming, thank you so much 👍🏻😊👍🏻 Thank you for tagging my video to a friend, so sorry to hear about his marriage break up. I'm sure your friend shall find the inner strength to get out there into the woods, even if it's just for an hour or two it's all so beneficial to our physical and mental well being. A good thing for your mate to do is get his kit organized in his pack and put it to one side ready, say just basic kit for a day in the woods- then for him to place this pack where it's frequently in sight. I find a pack that's sorted for a day out in the woods is like a flashing neon sign in the mind to get out there when there's some free time to hand. Plus there's the bonus of not having to sort through anything, basically just grab n go lol. Another trick that works is to leave a small pack ready kitted out in the car, that way it's a constant invite to ' get away' Thank you again Lee you're a lovely person Hope you had a Brill weekend yourself mate. Take care and all the very best to you Mike

I was just about to ask if it was clever editing but the bird screamed again a few sec's later ... Got some questions for ya, regarding your dutch and french tents (I just got the f2) whats your opinions on both and how they compare? of have you a viddy somewhere where you talk about it? Im slightly reluctant to get the dutchie one but im still tempted though! I've just been reading loads from people and some have second thoughts on them. Anyway, its great to catch your vid's from time to time ansd I dig your channel bro. Cheers from London Chris

Hi Chris, Heheh plenty of buzzards around here my friend, their population grows massively by the year. The Dutch and French army tents are so completely different, one being canvas and the other nylon. The Dutch army tent is a fantastic tent and if you can't get your hands on an updated version be sure to combine using with a tarp. Yeah the f2 is awesome, but I'd definitely recommend Seam sealing around from the inside of the tent. I'd say the dutch army is ideal all year round, especially come winter...and the f2 as you know I'd say its capable of winter use but I'd personally use it from late spring to late Autumn. Thank you very much Chris for watching and your kind words mean a lot to me 🌳🌳🌳🕊🌳🌳🌳 All the very best Mike

That is the advantage of living in the United States, there is plenty of public land. To camp in National Forrest land you can cap 1 week a year then you have to move to another forrest. On Bureau of Land Management land you have 2 weeks then you have to move 350 miles (563.27 Km), and that can be indefinitely.

Hi William, hey I'd love to visit the United States at some point in my life....So many beautiful places I'd love to see over there my friend. Yeah over here it's very hard to find places that wild camping is allowed, but then again I've got used to finding locations where I'm very unlikely to be found. As you know, the main thing is that wherever I camp it's always left as though I'd never been there. Thank you for watching and your comment All the very best to you William Mike

The key things to avoid are leaving a car in a lonely spot as it invites theft, vandalism and telegraphs you may be in the woods. Pub car park, lighted village road are best bets. I used Chaddesley village (you'll know where that is 😁). Most people are petrified of deep, dark, woodland so you are pretty sure to be undisturbed. A friend camped in the woods for 18 months after his divorce and had no disturbance. Also avoid places notorious for raves and dogging.......unless 😎 😂
