The plasma weapons in vanilla XCOM 2 just didn't have the same imaginative spark as the ones from Enemy Unknown. Thank you TLP for bringing those weapons back in all of their globby goodness.

I do kinda wish that they acted like sidegrades, instead of reskins. Like, maybe mag weapons do more damage, but lasers are more accurate, or something.

Still prefer what they were in Enemy Unknown/Within. The sounds were a lot punchier and the animations were cooler. And tier 2 was frickin' laser beams, not this magnetic nonsense.

Nah. Magnetic weapons are the SHIT. Infinitely better than lasers - in sound, in impact, in style... But it probably because of Advent, but who cares?

They have literally none of the finer animations too them, what are you talking about? These are stiff, inanimate things.

@@Thurnmourerthey meant design wise The vanilla plasma weapons all share the same design silhouette (the plasma sniper is literally just the plasma riffle but with an extended “barrel” thing) while each of the TLP plasma weapons have a unique look Also the TLP weapons are the XCOM EU/EW cartoony weapons but now with more realistic proportions

I think because all the TLP weapons are inspired off of Enemy Unknown/Enemy Within's versions of those weapons. So they have a more realistic human design compared to how Xcom 2's End Game equipment is a bit to...streamlined for a guerilla resistance movement

Gonna be honest I wish that they didn't take out the laser weapons but made them the new level 3 weapons that advent forces start using once you get mag weapons and level 2 armor while the plasma weapons become level 4

I still prefer the bullet weapons in the legacy ops. Their sounds are so beefy.

There's a mod called "weapon skin replacer (or replacement) that can be used to edit everything about the guns, including giving one gun another gun's fire animation, sound, projectiles, etc. You can do one or many in any combination. You can for example give mag rifles the fire animation of the advent priest's rifle, make a sniper rifle shoot shotgun bursts, make a cannon sound like an assault rife etc. You could use it to make the guns sound like the legacy ops guns if you want to :)

@@kanewilson8624 iunno the alloy cannon was basically magic. Very very satisfying sounds tho. I dont think it was superheated spikes I think it was super accelerated alloy shrapnel. Like rocksalt but for keeps
