But at the end of the campaing in Chimera Squad there are two people speaking to each other that war with XCOM will begin soon... and when it does XCOM will feel it. So XCOM 3 may even be against human faction.

There are even theories saying that the Ethereal revealed to be the actual player is hiding in the Commander's mind. I like this theory and really hope that it's true. Then again, probably just Terror from the Deep DLC teaser.

This is a different Skyranger. It seems to be more based on turbines than jet engines. Like a futuristic helicopter. Also when you have a mobile base and have to keep evading detection it may not be a good idea to send your main troop transporter too far on its own.

I think its more playing on the idea that the Commander is actually one of the elders, one of the Ascended Ethereals to be exact. After all the Commander was able to sustain a entire army's worth of thoughts for twenty years, do the same to control the Avatars body (which only Ethereals are meant to be able), reopen the gate that only Ethereals are supposed to sustain and fight off a dozen or so other ethereals that were trying to overload his mind. The Ethereals saying they had to work together was probably because they were afraid of dying out instead of Ascending like the Commander did, and that the Commander too will fall.

Virus bombs, glassing, nuclear and hydro-nuclear arsenal. A legion of SPARKS, templars, skirmishers, and reapers (They aren't tend to do it, but oh boy if didint wanted revenge) with best XCOM generals leading them will leave planets empty. Humans are even more bloodthirsty than any mutons, and even more terrifying than any of the chryssalid rushing at you. The race that *survives* in every given situation. A perfect project of Elders.

This is such a diverse story and its absolutely beautiful. I loved every cutscene, every small detail that they manage to squeeze into this game. Everything has gone full Theory, there are so many pieces that fit together, not for this one game, but for all of the XCOM remakes. Im glad they decided to delay instead of rushing it, it wouldnt have been as amazing.

I think they mean death itself. The Avatar project was about making the Elders immortal and super powerful as they once were. It's similar to the plot of the Stargate original movie, where the aliens took human bodies and presented themselves as gods to humans because the human bodies were "easier to repair".

Well, the ethereals were the ones doing the modifying, and many of the modifications (archons come to mind) were done to make the aliens more aesthetically pleasing to humans. Why modify yourselves if you plan on making new bodies anyways, and people can't be freaked out by your atrophied four limbed bodies because of some fancy cloaks?

Here's another one: In the cutscene where the Commander wakes up in bed, their blanket is white. But if you look at the Commander's Quarters in the Avenger (don't actually go in, just move the camera there, because if you go in the camera angle blocks it), their blanket is blue. The way I see it: XCOM Enemy Unknown = Ufo Defense XCOM 2 = XCOM Apocalypse The Bureau: XCOM Declassified = Enforcer Therefore XCOM 3 is either gonna be Terror from the Deep or Interceptor remake. I just hope Firaxis won't make the Elders right and there is no greater evil out there because when you think about it the whole talk about "the thing that seeks to conusme us all" is bullshit. Unfortunately both vanilla game and WOTC ends with sequel hooks that propose otherwise.

i suppose that there are somekind of being that more powerful than the elders and was seeking them all the time. or maybe want to destroy everything. And the key to defeat them is lie on us. from the xcom EU, the elder was interested with our psionic soldier. So maybe when the next xcom come out, i will not surprise if human and the elder stand together.

I think elders are extinct. Their bodies died near the beginning of xcom 2/are in state that they are barely functional and they can only interfere with their surroundings using their psi powers. Also every race that elders conquer and humans probably hate them. So I don't see this

Half the cutscenes have been cut for WOTC, which is now the definitive XCOM2 canon. Sucks because I came here to see the chip research cutscene and noticed how much content was cut.

Yeah, recorded while playing through the campaign. You can download this "movie" and cut the pieces you want, but the quality may suffer that way as youtube compresses the video and actually makes it worse than the original capture.

Everyone like the MK ULTRA in the story? I admit newer XCOM games are cheesy as hell (directed towards buyers like me) I wouldnt buy it either till I noticed what Sid Meier put in the story/plot.
