Another great thing about mimetic skin is that it pays for itself in terms of meld because it helps you go out and snag the containers before they expire.

I personally LOVE Adaptive Bone Marrow for my immortal assault soldier, even in situations when he could die, he just regenerates and keeps kicking hard :) Also Bioelectric Skin gives assault high chance of feeling the enemy behind the wall (lets blow that xray through the wall with mec afterwards), Adrenal Neurosymph gives nice bonus for aim, and with Hyper reactive pupils, there is nearly 0 chance of miss, and what could be better for my immortal assault than to give him Neural Feedback and kill PSI opponents and disabling them :P

"You are going to run out of meld." Mid game over 1000 meld.
@pierat33387 жыл бұрын
PappaMC JFC what is the definition of mid game? Roughly 30 meld per mission, not every mission gives meld, I'm near the end game and only have had about 300 something meld
@DinnerForkTongue6 жыл бұрын
The main advice about getting Meld is not to run suicidally after canisters, but NEVER kill Mechtoids and Heavy Floaters with explosives if you can help it. Each one gives 5 Meld. Also don't capture Heavy Floaters much, save the Arc Thrower for Mutons.

Hyper Reactive Pupils is great on a Heavy with Bullet Swarm. Heavies have naturally low aim, and can shoot twice a turn with Bullet Swarm, and when I play they don't get height advantage as often as I'd like...
@ElodieHiras10 жыл бұрын
I tend to take Adaptive Bone Marrow because most of my troopers are equipped with Ghost Armor, so I don't really need Muscle Fiber Density (except on my Squadsight Sniper with Archangel Armor). And every once in a while, my enemies get a lucky crit or I encounter a fucking *Sectopod*, so I find the 66% recovery time reduction useful (except on my Squadsight sniper who's never injured anyway).
@thedarkmaster47478 жыл бұрын
+ElodieHiras "fucking *Sectopod*" lol! a grapple hook almost trumps muscle fiber. when you can have a squad that just keeps regenerating over time.
@DinnerForkTongue6 жыл бұрын
I've found out that Mimetic Skin tends to be great but creates bad habits, such as sending your scout to a position full of enemies that the team can't reach until two turns or so later. And unlike Ghost Armor, it's no get-out-of-jail-free card against "Overwatch on spot" aliens unless you can grapple away. Especially if your Meld scout doesn't have Lightning Reflexes and you're up against a Sectopod. Muscle Fiber Density I tend to give to my troops that get Extra Conditioning (thanks, Training Roulette) to get the most out of Titan Armor. Leap like a Chryssalid, tank like a Mechtoid.

Hi TheBeeNee101, Thank you for putting this vid up, quite informative, a few points to note: Depending on if your the type to have the hero units, my fave being Sid Meier, the hit point recovery I would deem to be of some use since he actually has some hp to restore, but for the normal troops I agree with you.

The adaptive bone marrow can create extremely durable assault troopers, but the assault class can also be designed to be extremely durable anyway. Again, assault is really the only character where adaptive BM is super useful

First you get Mimetic Skin for your Assault (one with Low Cover if you play with Training Roulette and got that; but any will do). Then you get Mimetic Skin for everyone else (in order - Assaults; Medics; Heavies; Snipers - obviously non-Medic Support is trash you should never bother with). Then it doesn't really matter. Just get whatever with that spare meld. Mimetic Skin absolutely pays for itself, you'll get 100% of meld canisters with minimum risk.

In general mistakes happen, so I tend to have all my units have adaptive bone marrow combined with the rapid recovery upgrade in officer training. Healing those few hp when on the verge of death will let you take even more damage if you mess up again, and recovering from grave injury in 2 days as oppose to 9 means it will be near impossible for any one of your soldiers to not join in on the next fight. But ultimately it comes down to cost (mainly meld, credits as well though). It costs a lot to allow all/most of your main squad to jump high, even if it is useful for every class. Bone marrow is extremely powerful in the early game, and stays as a sort of insurance like secondary heart in the late game. If I have the meld, and somehow nothing better to spend it on, then yeah I get muscle fibers on units other than my sniper.

I only use Neural Damping on Shaojie Zhang if he suffered critical wounds during my playthrough (I don't think he died on any of mine (excluding my 1st where he was the volunteer, does that count?), given that crit wounds reduce will permanently. That guy's extra Aim and HP for a heavy is very good, so I want to prevent him from getting MC'ed. Else, I tend to use high willed soldiers (*cough* Anette *cough*), so Neural Feedback is the brain mod I use the most. Only my Squadsight snipers make regular use of elevation bonuses and as such get the Depth Perception eye mod, everyone else gets Hyper Reactive Pupils. I like the Adrenal Neurosympathy, but I have used Secondary Heart on Zhang (Anette doesn't tend to get injured in my playthrough for some reason) and on soldiers who are far from the fray. I tend to have at least one soldier with Bioelectric Skin to be able to see behind corners or closed doors, but my other soldiers get Mimetic Skin. And as I said before, my Squadsight snipers get Muscle Fiber Density, the rest get Adaptive Bone Marrow for that lucky enemy critical hit or unlucky encounter with a Sectopod...

Depends on class I field squads of two Mech Troopers two supports one heavy and a sniper I take my assault class and turn them into Mechs. My sniper I like to give Neural Feedback Depth perception secondary heart mentic skin (I can't spell that well) and high density muscles. My snipers are usually focused around a snapshot skill tree. Supports I go with Neural Feedback hyper reactive pupils secondary heart bioelectric skin and the muscle genemod. Heavys I use the same as the support except I change the muscle genemod for adaptive bone marrow

I suggest *Mimetic skin.* and Neural dampening, Screw everything else, You just need a squad of 6 Mimetic Skin soldier.
@n1ghtwalk3r543 жыл бұрын
Mimetic skin is so damn expensive that i only get 2 troops going, the 3rd one had bioelectric and it is quite handy, ot also have decent range and low cost, useful on assaults Secondary gives you a way to gey rid of mind control, just kill you own soldier if you can't kill the sectoid commander or ethereal and if the soldier is dangerous, you can still heal them after

Great video thanks for uploading,but I have some noob question so if you or anyone in comment can help with great.I bought X-Com along with enemy within all at once,so I guess my questions may be a combination of both.How low can other countries get before having to be concerned with them leaving x-com,or should some countries be ignored and which countries are best to keep an eye on?Is it better off to have more workshops or science,since money is hard to make in the game?What is the best way to make money? I know I have asked few question so I really appreciate any help,thanks in advance.
@TheBeeNee1018 жыл бұрын
Countries will only leave the XCOM project if they have full panic at the end of a month. You can typically counter this by building satellites throughout the month, but not launching them until the end of the month so that you can reduce the panic levels of the countries likely to leave. Money is hard to come by early in the game, but if you're doing a good job at keeping panic levels down, by the time you get to the half way point of the game you should be getting plenty of money every month. If you're struggling, don't forget that you can sell stuff on the black market - especially damaged items that you get from UFO missions.

as someone who has put many hrs into xcom I can say TWO things. 1: Height advantage is RARE and not worth getting buffs for! I kept putting attention to it until I realized that 90% of the time the map is flat. 2: Squadsight is garbage on most maps due to glitches or how the mapping works. Thats unrelated to this video- but i learned it only today in a playthrough
