Sips kills aliens, gets salvage for Lewis, lewis uses salvage to get research for sips, sips gets more salvage and planes for Lewis, hopefully this game is on the up and up

Original XCOM is a bit of a snowbally game. If you played Enemy Unknown, you know how much of a ball ache it is to complete any missions, especially Terror Missions, but once you get the research in and setup your satellites to prevent attacks, you basically win the game.

Yep! But I think lewis forgot to grab the free salvage the last round. And that Elerium looked pretty useful actually, essentially giving 2 extra credits for each next round (= replacement of dead soldiers and fighters)

In my experience, XCOM (Apart from the 'superhuman' modes, and Long War, or things like that.) tends to have a tech (Or a few) that drastically turns the advantage to you. In my XCOM UFO Defense compaign (I honestly abandoned it for Dark Souls 3.) Plasma Pistols were infinitely better than anything else I had at the time. Everyone, Sniper or Chump, had a plasma pistol and a grenade. (Stunrod in backpack.) Also, it's surprisingly boring doing the 'sniper, chump' thing in the game on your own, because there will be no legends made of the people.

For future reference (I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but damn this changes the game dramatically): During the base defense stage of resolution, you're supposed to keep the threat level as it was every time you advance to the next alien. e.g. When sips killed that cyberdisc and moved to fight the floater, his threat should have been on 2 not 1. I mean the way they're playing it's like killing an alien after an hours long conflict and asking the other aliens for a time out before blowing them up with a rocket launcher in the face at point blank range.

As someone 6 years younger than Sips who is MUCH balder than him, I just want to tell Sips he needs bite the bullet and cut his hair pretty short. It looks SO MUCH less silly than keeping it at combover length.

Hey Sips, even though you're wrecking face you've made it a little harder on yourself. You reveal the aliens in the mission when you assign soldiers to the mission in the timed phase. Hope this helps.

Tom explained it in the comments last video, basically one of the roles (I think it was scientist?) doesn't do that much so they'll mostly just sit and watch while the others play. They combined the 2 roles that do the least so they get to be involved more.

The role combination they use is actually different from the ones the game suggests. The game says that if you have three people, one person should be the Central Officer and the Commander. If you have two, it suggests having one person be the Central Officer and Squad Leader, and the other be the Commander and the Chief Scientist.

I watched someones play through of enemy unknown a couple months after it came out and I don't remember that many crises but then my memory it crap so that doesn't stand to much. But that doesn't really matter IMO because the board game shouldn't be balanced around the video game it should be balanced around it's self and the fact that you can just get completely screwed by crises in this through little fault of your own to me seems a little bull shit.

The whole point of Xcom is to be at a disadvantage, you're never supposed to beat the game well ahead but rather feel like you just won by inches which the board game (and regular game did well I feel).
