XCrafts E175 Review | How Good is the Embraer e-Jets Series?

Unbiased & Honest Initial Impressions & Review. The E-175 by X-Crafts is 1 of 4 aircraft in their eJets family series, and I've decided to drop $75 so you don't have to.
After watching this video you will have a good idea if it's worth $75 (or $135 for the entire E Jets Family).
This is my FIRST attempt, finding my way round the cockpit, and flying from A to B, as well as some basic tests, thoughts & impressions. I share the good, bad and the ugly, and to be fair - on this occasion, there's not very much ugly to show!
Important note: I am in no way affiliated with Xplane, Laminar, Xcrafts - OR ANY OTHER MODULE MAKER for Xplane, DCS or MSFS2020. It is because of this fact I am able to buy aircraft at regular price and share my open honest opinion, which is backed up with thousands of hours in the sim as well as a flying and gliding scholarship from half a lifetime ago in the air cadets, where I also lectured younger students in the principles of flight. I am by no means an expert, but to say i'm an enthusiast is underplaying it a little. Owning around 50-60 payway aircraft across multiple flight sims qualifies me to give an opinion that is worth at least as much as the next guy!

I fly the 175 for a regional in the US. Embraer uses the dark cockpit design philosophy like Airbus. If the switch is dark, it means it's controlled by system logic. When the light is on, it means it's in manual control. On the overhead, we don't touch any of the pneumatics for engine start; even when doing a crossbleed start. We just let the computer control the packs and bleeds for us. Same with all of the overhead switches. They're always left in the 12 o'clock or "auto" position except for the hydraulic 3A pump. We have three hydraulic systems that overlap. 1 and 2 are primary and have engine driven pumps and an AC motor pump backup. System 3 is kinda like a backup system, but there's no EDP. When we push back, we turn the 3A pump on, and the 3B is backup and stays in auto unless there's an abnormal. When we park back at the gate, and shutdown, the 3A pump goes off. You basically turn it on and off with the beacon. Also, the only thing the override switch on the ignition does is fire both igniters on the ground rather than just one. This FMS simulates a newer software load than we use. I only have a little bit of time with it in the motion simulator, but it does auto initialize itself like it does in XP which is pretty cool. Glad the X-Crafts is getting some love. It's still got a ways to go, but it's getting better and better. Enjoying the channel! Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the video, I appreciate you giving it a try! It's fun watching you try to figure things out around, you did a good job for not knowing anything at all about the Embraers:D But this aircraft is really a bit too complex to just click on random switches to see what happens. In any way, I just wanted to clarify that we DO have the authentic FMS. Our Free E-Jets have the Tekton, but the FMS in this video is the Load 27 which is exactly the same as on the real jets. (Some use the older version Load 25). TAURA shows you that the altitude restriction must be (anywhere) above 9000, it doesn't need to be at 9000, that would be a hard altitude restriction. Same on the descent. the waypoints must be ABOVE 1600ft, but it can be anywhere above that. the FMS calculates the correct vertical profile, while respecting the restrictions. So nothing wrong with that, it is correct :) Definitely check out that Demo Flight, you'll have even a lot more fun with the jet:) Cheers!

Hey, thanks for coming by and clarification on the FMS... You got me, I'm never gonna read the instructions for every aircraft, but I still like to think I can figure out how to get it from A to B. I really enjoy the variety, and I only really have time to get to know a small handful really well. You mentioned the Vertical Situation Display showing restrictions (at or above type) based on where VNAV thinks is best for profile - that's very interesting and a unique feature ( Vs Boeing/Airbus) - I'll be sure to mention this on a future flight with your aircraft. I since figured out the zoom for ND too. Very nice module overall. Finally, would you mind mentioning about the IRS/INS (or whatever equivalent is used) maybe this aircraft it's all fully automatic, or just not simulated yet?

Great video. How do you get such smooth panning? using the mouse in XP12 is a stutter fest for me.

X-Camera is a good plugin to get on sale! You can smoothly pan amongst other things.

Totally agree. An hour and a half of my life I'll never get back. It's a total waste of my time watching videos like this by guys who don't take the time to RTFM or, at the very minimum, look at the demo flight or do the slightest to familiarize themselves with the aircraft before blindly attempting a flight in a very complex model. I thought that @xcrafts_development was very gracious in their comments above. Shame on you, @InternetFlightRules. You've done a real disservice to your subscribers.
