We don't need to beat Snapdragon. We need a flagship chip set for a flagship phone. Sadly Pixel 9 lineup has a midrange chipset with a slow UFS memory.

The Pixel 9 recently released and Google already announced the 9a, while also "announcing" I mean leaking the 10 and 11. This is a big reason most people don't ultimately choose a Pixel phone because by the time you get your it's already 2 gens behind and launched with only 3 of the 10 features Google sold the device on or promised to but didn't deliver on until months later. Not to mention each Pixel line having a major defect or issue plaguing it, and Gemini is a noticeable downgrade to Assistant. The video is great though and I really liked the insight into the Pixel

Maybe geeks won't buy it but the average user will. In a lot of country, people are tired to only have a choice between a Galaxy or an iPhone. That's why Google marketshare grows: it may be slow for some but at the end, numbers don't lie and more and more people buy those phones. They are not perfect but they clearly do the job. Whatever the haters, Google will sell those Pixel. Google have made multiple changes with Pixel 9 séries, so they just have to persist but deeply.

Unfortunately Pixels have the highest return rates too at 75%. It makes it one of the lowest loyalty rating, meaning people try the Pixel and return back to their previous phone manufacturer. I am one of those people, after getting burned by how bad the previous Pixels were it’s hard to trust this company again.

Also for context: I've had a Pixel 7 Pro for 2 years, it's paid off. I use project Fi and have historically been a huge Google nerd. But the over-focus on this garbage really turns me off when the things I do care about aren't prioritized instead. Thr only way I can vote it seems is with my wallet. And I can and happily would pay $1900 for a phone like the Fold if certain other things were fixed. I've sent hundreds of emails, spent tens of thousands of dollars and they don't listen. So maybe taking away the ability for them to collect my data and divesting is the way to go at this point. The one "AI" feature that is nice is the call assistant. But it's not worked reliably, so I've just disabled calls. The others have done nothing to improve my life. I would rather see the reality of a photo vs the fakeness of a stack of edits. Fooling people with illusions is dishonest and amoral.

Hey google - doing the whole AMD-GPU thing doesn't actually work, do the thing they should do, but with phones. Give us a phone that makes skipping the high end of Galaxy easy WHILE ALSO filling in the lower tiers where MOST of Samsung units are sold. That's competition - not this stuff you do now.
