“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened” - Dr. Seuss. I think part of what hurts people about XD dying in particular is that for many people, this wasn’t JUST a game. XD marketed itself on nostalgia - on the idea that if you played it, it would take you back to that golden era of cod. Back to a time when we were all still kids, when we could hop on a video game and our friends would all be there. A time where life and age and obligations weren’t pulling us away. A time where life was good and simple. XD let people pretend we aren’t in our thirties. And when XD got its death date, it brought a lot of people crashing back down into cold, hard reality. The best thing now is to remember the good times, and don’t get swallowed up in nostalgia. Move on from the old memories and you might find yourself making newer, better ones.

Even without nostalgia. The game is just fun. I never played the old cods and never played the old Halos, Xdefiant was the game that pretty much introduced me to the fps genre and i loved it. The gameplay was smooth and the organic matchmaking system was refreshing.

Before XDefiant, I was playing Pre 2019 CODs. Unless something monumental drops, that doesn't have EOMM of course. I'll be back there to get my FPS fix after June 3rd, 2025.

@skydog07sb I'm on Series X. Official servers, I can't give an exact answer for that.🤷🏾‍♂️ The only one's I don't play are Advanced warfare and Infinite warfare because they weren't that great. BO2 and BO3 have a higher rate of meeting cheaters because those were 2 of the most popular games. All others have their small player bases, you'll find a match.

I never understood people who only play one genre. I put a lot of time in xDefiant but there's so many awesome games out there. If it's on Console or Mobile I'm always willing to give it a chance. Story-based, turn-based, fighting games, RPGs to indie darlings. I'll never be able to play them all.

Oke thing that Xdefiant showed me was how bad i am at fls games. And im thankful it did. Before Xd, i thought i was good at fps games and didnt have motivation to improve. Now, i know im a peice of crap and i saw myself improve in Xd lifetime. So in other fps games, i can be mptovated to improve again

Xdefiant was beyond overrated. Not a good cod substitute. Everything just felt dated, clunky, and generic. It also didn’t help that it didn’t even run on an FPS engine.

Xdefiant sucked ass. Like you said, every single thing about it just felt like diet, shittier CoD. The only reason it got any attention at all is because it marketed itself on no SBMM, and as it turns out, most of the "SBMM sucks" crowd don't have a single clue what they're talking about.

I loved this game, so much, but as it dies i kind of found a new game to look forward to; Fragpunk Jak, I think it would be cool if you could look over this game if you turn out to like it, and if you don’t thats fine, i watch you for you after all! ❤

Its still sad about Xdefiant. Ubisoft got their hands too much into it imo. Ubisofting it up. But the no sbmm games, were so satisfying for the time I had with it regardless. So much more enjoyable than cod with every match being so samey and me never seemingly being the best in the lobby, unless i dont play for a week or two so they give me a bot lobby to run before throwing me back to the wolves. I hate cod, Xdefiant was the best thing going for me. And i will miss it despite its major flaws.

@ there’s an indie shooter or two per year that catches my eye but that’s it Me growing to hate nearly everything else is a result of me taking the open-minded approach when I had Game Pass during the pandemic and regretting it for the most part (though at least I wasn’t paying for it, MS Rewards was great back then)
