Dear H. was written by Junhan, and if I'm remembering correctly it's about his journey of opening up to the members and feeling grateful to them for being patient with him (as he is very introverted). As for Night Before The End, the theme is so much more complex than just a break-up (imo) Jooyeon explained when he was writing the song that he had the theme of a meteor hitting the earth, and that being the night before the world ends. At the same time, it can represent the night before you break up with your lover, and all of those emotions and stuff. So I find it really tragic in the sense of world-ending and also in the sense of knowing it's the last day with someone you loved.

For Xdinary Heroes "Night before the end", the MV director provided 3 keywords: # Tiger Moth # Dead of the night # Avoid Tiger Moth is a symbol of transformation, intuition, and subtle power. The song expresses the feelings of someone precariously standing on the edge of love.

Money On My Mind was my favorite XH song before they released iNSTEAD. It's just PURE ROCK and Junhan finally gets an extended rock solo (that's kind of two parts) and he was truly allowed to just shine in this song, along with one of his rare singing lines!! I love when he gets to sing 🩷 Plus Jooyeon absolutely murdered the track with his vocals.

Thanks for checking out more Xdinary Heroes!! Dear H. is in my top 5 xdh songs… I sometimes call it my fave but then I remember that Ghost, Pirates, Man in the Box, Night of Fireworks and Pluto exist and it just becomes impossible to rank them 😅😂 I know parts of Dear H. sound a little abrupt on first listen but it’s intentionally done and I think it lends itself very well to the lyrics of the song from Jun Han’s pov- yearning for a deeper connection, almost to the point of screaming on the inside yet being unable to express those feelings outwardly. I think it all comes together really well and feels less disjointed in the live clip, so I would’ve suggested that over the MV, which is basically mostly b-roll footage from the Good Enough MV (Studio J gives them no budget and it’s so frustrating). Jun Han’s guitar solo sounds much more prominent in the live clip, but I also wish it was longer overall. He’s had longer and more frequent solos in more recent albums so that’s great! Jooyeon brought so much raw, desperate emotion to Save Me and I don’t know where he pulls it from, but it’s just incredible. And Jungsu cracked me up by being so smiley in this devastatingly sad song lol (“don’t try to break me cuz i’m already broken ☺️” 💀) If y’all liked Save Me, then you’d probably enjoy Dreaming Girl which is from their previous album Troubleshooting, and it was I believe their first Hong Jisang collab (writing + producing), along with Night of Fireworks. And then he’s credited on 3 songs for this new album so I’d say the partnership is going well! It was pre-released with a lyric video but also has a live clip. As a general recommendation from someone who ults xdh and has loved them since pre-debut; almost always go for the live clip!! They sound amazing, the instruments are super present and there’s a live clip or official concert clip for at least 85% of their discography. Live performances are where bands really shine to their fullest potential in my opinion! Having heard Xymphony, I think it fits so well with the vibes of their 2nd mini album ‘Overload’, which is my fave of their mini albums, very whimsical and almost eery but super distinctive sound! 😍 Thanks again!! 💕 Hope you check out more soon!

A lot of people say Good Enough is the best from Deadlock and while I agree it's a fantastic song, I can't relate as I've never been in love AND I just reaaaallly dislike acoustic ballads. They're so boring to me and sound the same. But Xdinary Heroes just has a way with instrumentation and vocals that make me love the song. That being said, I relate WAY more to Dear H. I know someone explained it already, but it was written by Junhan who is extremely introverted and struggled with opening up to people, so this song was to show his appreciation for his members (the title meaning "Dear Heroes). It reads to me like the writer, along with being introverted, may have had some anxiety and even depression. And I relate to that way more than being in love/dealing with heartbreak. So I think Dear H. is my favorite out of the two ballads on Deadlock. Plus it's a rock ballad so bonus points lol.

Save Me is good and once again, the members killed the vocals. But it's definitely my least favorite from the Live and Fall album. I'm sorry but the verses just give Rascal Flatts and I can't get over it 😭😭
