In the group stage that Danish side was ruthless. They were a machine, beautiful to watch. I was a bit surprised they lost to Spain, and shocked that they were put to the sword.

we where new on that stage, and we happened to have the most golden generation ever seen - that was perhaps the best team in the world at the time - but they did not have that mentality, so against spain things where going great until 'that' back pass from jesper olsen... and that single mistake made the team lose faith and fall apart... a failed back pass is still named a jesper olsen in denmark jesper olsen spend a decade in self imposed exile after that. damm that was a team

They just couldn't beat us 🇪🇦 back then... EURO 84', WC 1986, EURO 88', We even stopped them qualifying for USA 94'... We were their kyrptonite... Lucky we weren't there to stop them EURO 92' 😂

I loved the 1986 world cup. The June summer was beautiful.i was 11 and had my whole life ahead of me. Id love to go back to summer 1986.

Yes these highlights are ridiculous..half of laudrups wonder goal isnt even shown...its all speed edited to leave ur head spinning...very poor upload

Estaba por ver este partido. Pero creo que por la diferencia abismal, el resumen esta más que bien. Gracias por subir todo esto en gran calidad, sigo descubriendo grandes talentos en el mundial que luego no tuvieron repercusión a nivel clubes, pero que en el mundial se lucieron. Y por otro lado ver quienes estuvieron inflados por la prensa, porque hubo varios, y por ello es tan importante ver todos los partidos y mejor si son completos, para sacar conclusiones propias y no repetir lo qie otros dicen. Un saludo!! 😊

Me acuerdo como si fuera ayer. Pero ya hace casi 40 años. Fuimos a verlo en la casa de un compañero de universidad de apellido Nivia en el Barrio La Floresta en Bogota. Tremenda paliza y sorpresa con esa maquina danesa y especialmente con ese animal llamado Preben Elkjaer Larsen, que se fumaba un pocoton de cigarrillos al dia y tomaba cerveza, pero en el campo era implacable. Luego la decepcion frente a la España de Butragueño, igual los golearon como 5-1, si no estoy mal

@4:06 Great penalty by Francescoli, only 2-1 going into the second half though them being down to ten men and Denmark having been so strong in the first half meant that Uruguay surely weren't too hopeful of a comeback. Then again, stranger things have happened. That Batista had a terrific shooting ability from long range.

Whenever I watch footage from 86 wc nowadays one of the main factors is the truly shocking reffing that went on without VAR along with a bunch of old blind codgers. No way a red or a pen for Uruguay .

Para mi los daneses se emborracharon antes del juego con España, podian perder, pero 5-1, cuando Dinamarca hizo rapido el gol de penalti, parecia otra goleada, de repente no jugaron mas, España los apabullo inexplicablemente.
