As a follow up to anyone that's interested, my "fix lasted roughly a season. I've replaced my "tie downs" once each. It's time to make another couple for the upcoming season.

@Coach Kareem. Buy the pads-they're the first real improvement development in pads in about 50 years. Google 1960 shoulder pads and you'll see what I mean.

nice job. How old is your son and what size are the pads. I'm thinking of getting a size S for my son. he is a QB.

Thank you. He's 13 and wears a Medium. Check the size chart on xenith.com. It's an excellent measurement tool. If you have any questions, call them-they're always tremendously helpful when I call.

Haha this is great! I love the intro talking about the one cosmetic flaw then the side profile pan to the pair of bewbs. I bet that kid caught hell on the football field! I'm looking to buy a size small for my boy and this has helped me out a lot. One question.... I've seen reviews saying the chest plate is paper thin. Has he had several impacts where the shoulder pads, mainly the chest area, did not do the job and absorb the blow? Thanks for your help so far an any additional help you could provide.

MemphisT7 Thanks for the compliment. That said, it wasn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme and XENITH addressed the issue with their new pads...they just haven't remedied the existing pair. I've been thinking of making some and stocking them for sale for others that have had the same issue.
